the translator really can't win. if a poem is good in translation my automatic response is "wow the genius of the original shines through even in translation." if it's bad my automatic response is "wow the translator did a shitty job here"

my mom and dad are on a biking trip thing in austria, and so far the only two pictures theyve sent me is them standing by signs with their names on it. their very normal, historical significant, european names. it's very funny.
