Delilah was sitting at a folding table in the cafeteria, hunched over and bored out of her mind. She was trying to gather some data for her phycology project and Westerburg High was the first school that let her set up a small questionnaire booth, so she took the chance. Plus, she could give away some pamphlets for her band's performance in the park later that night. Sadly, she was being pretty thoroughly ignored by most of the student body. It wasn't until she finally decided to rest her head that she finally heard a clearing of a throat, causing her to quickly correct her posture and put on a smile. "hello!" (Feel free to respond with whoever. I would have used my actual RP blog but I can't figure out if I can switch to it or not. lol.)
J.D. is standing there in front of the questionnaire booth with a look of immense curiosity and boredom on his face. He had a pension for noticing what was ignored by most and the girl in front of him was clearly being ignored by pretty much everyone with a pulse. Maybe it was pity, probably more like boredom-that lead him to walk up but he was in desperate need of some mental stimulation.
Actual stimulation, that is…not whatever most people at this school would call general socialization. Given how inane the Westerburg student body or humanity at large even could be, this could be a fascinating thought experiment or so brain numbing he might just bludgeon himself afterwards just to feel something close to an intelligent thought.
“Greetings and salutations.” He said. “Asking questions for a school project I presume?”
He observed the pile of pamphlets on the table, clearly untouched since they were set up. His voice remains nonchalant and dry but it looks like he can’t tell if he’s supposed to be as amused as he is or feel bad.
“Not going well by the looks of it.”
*Delilah stood up almost immediately, the rubber of the platforms on her shoes screeching almost as loud as the chair behind her- which had almost fallen over* "Hello!" she said with rejuvenated enthusiasm by the interaction that finally came. "You would be correct. I'm doing a research paper for one of my classes based on the young adult perception of their futures based on their backgrounds." she handed him a small paper with a few points that were essentially just longer, wordier ways of what she just said. "I thought I would simply come to the source of it all, you know?" she gave a nonchalant shrug before looking him up and down. Delilah couldn't tell if his more emo style of dress was on purpose or not, but she decided to try and use it as an icebreaker anyways. "Did you get your coat from thrifting? it looks like a good find." she gestured to the chair on his side of the table before sitting back down herself, content with her attempt at forming some kind of social connection.
