Headcanon: Mr. "Ant" Tenna, more than meets the eye

Tenna seems that only represents the Dreemurr TV and he only knows what programs they whatched. The typical character that Western television portrays—capitalist, consumerist, empty entertainment—and that’s all he knows. But the goofy Tenna we know is just the tip of the iceberg

Tenna hasn’t just existed since the Dreemurrs’ television was first turned on; he is an even older, more ancient essence. His date of birth is uncertain; he may have been born in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Maybe on January 26, 1926, when Scottish engineer John Logie Baird conducted the first public demonstration of mechanical television in London. Or maybe on September 7, 1927 when Philo Farnsworth invented the first fully functional, all-electronic television system. He is an energy that has manifested himself in every CRT television in the world since its inception.

He's the essence of TV itself; wherever there’s a TV, there he is—no matter the model or brand, it’s still him, because he’s a force that needs a TV to manifest itself, preferably a CRT. An almost omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient lesser deity. It is no wonder that he is also known as “The Lord of the Screens” in the prophecy.

He has an ALMOST deep understanding of diverse cultures and speaks several languages fluently, because he is exposed not only to information from the West, but also to every news report, educational channel, documentary, VHS tape, DVD, LaserDisc, etc that has ever existed throughout history, across the length and breadth of this world. But he only know what has been recorded or transmitted, making his knowledge have some flaws; much of it tends to be fragmented, inaccurate, contradictory, because some people show only what is convenient for TV to show and he doesn't know what was never filmed

He seems to be a good guy, but his moral standards are rather ambiguous. He wants to entertain and make others happy—fine—but regardless of how ethical the content he shares may be.

For him, the ratings justifies the means; his goal is to be seen, and he’s capable of doing both the best and the worst things in this world to achieve it. He forms and destroys emotional bonds easily. He feels utterly devastated by Kris’s family separation and the fact that the family has stopped seeing him. But as soon as they restore his hope—which is simply taking him to someone who will see him—his happiness and energy are restored. It doesn’t matter that he’s watched Kris grow up his whole life and has a special connection with him; all he cares about is being the center of attention, no matter whose.

We see Tenna as a GIANT humanoid with TV head. But he's WAY BIGGER than that; he's an entire global nervous system. Every television set in the world that is thrown away hurts him as if one of his long tentacles—which cover almost the entire globe—were being amputated. It is as if a part of him were dying. Turning him into a agonizing monster of global proportions

Both were "abandoned" by their families. Little by little, the Dreemurr family stopped watching television, just as Asuka's mother stopped seeing her daughter and paid more attention to a doll due to her mental deterioration. Toriel and Asgore got divorced, which also traumatized Tenna, just as Asuka's father divorced her mother because he was mentally unstable, adding more emotional pain to Asuka

Outside, both seem extrovert, energetic, self-confident, egocentric. But it's just a mask, because inside they hide many traumas, fear of abandonment, insecurity, they are afraid of being replaced, discarded, irrelevant, not being looked at, not being praised, not being loved, ceasing to exist. For Asuka, the most important thing of her existence is being an EVA pilot, and for Tenna, it's his TV show. Those things are their identities, without those things, they feel existence has no purpose

And they're also emotionally unstable when things are not going as they want or when they feel rejected, whether it's a fit of anger or feeling depressed

Both are psychologically shattered in a fight
