Then his ring starts losing power, and the risk of losing his ability to communicate with humans becomes too real. Dex-Starr decides to take his journey to the red Central Battery, even though Guy worries Dex-Starr’s ring’s charge won’t last long enough to make it all the way to Ysmault.

The risk of a cold death is worth it to keep the life Dex-Starr has built for himself since becoming a Red Lantern.

i've drawn her before, but to explain what she's actually like: Bubblegum is a butch lesbian (don't let the pink fool u) with the power to make forcefield "bubbles" around anything she touches, including herself (but the bigger the bubble, the more penetrable/weaker it becomes). due to the Manton effect, she can't bisect through organic material but she CAN cut through any inorganic materials. rated as a shaker 6, striker 3, mover 1.

she's lowkey the "golden girl" of the sacramento protectorate/wards due to her effective and flashy but fairly nonviolent power + her outgoing personality, but she sometimes gets stressed out in leadership positions and then her powers activate on a hair-trigger.

Patchwork is a medical Tinker with a specialization in monstrous body modification. He got his start as a rouge/villain in Toybox, and eventually ends up as Bubblegum’s teammate on the Sacramento Protectorate.

The fix is a mix of character descriptions, art, and story chapters. The story shows the lives of capes in the Wormverse who aren’t part of Taylor’s story, but still deal with the macro-level impacts on the world like Endbringers and Protectorate secrets.

Fic Summary:

Larfleeze was told that when he got an orange ring, he would likely be hunted down and killed by the Orange Lantern who controlled the Central Battery.

He never expected to kill him and take his place instead.

He won’t be like his predecessor, though. Sure, Larfleeze killed all his friends almost immediately, but he’s not going to keep their ghosts around. The orange power would be his alone.

Novembmas 2025 Day 23: Aspects of Pokémon

Summary:

Hisui changed Ingo, but Emmet doesn’t care. They’re still twins, and Emmet wants more than anything to be the same again, even if it means becoming part Pokémon. Monster AU!

This image shows Danny's cape persona (name unknown as of the PHO interlude), Pretender, and Platinum ("Annette" as a cape).

Danny's costume is based on Ratcatcher (Suicide Squad, DC), Doctor Doom (Fantastic Four, Marvel), and this rat skull mask I found on Google Images.

Pretender's costume is based on Servantis (Ben 10) with minor influences/inspiration from Cyclops (X-Men, Marvel) Hawkeye (Avengers, Marvel), and Impessario (The Awesomes).

Platinum is inspired by Emma Frost (X-Men, Marvel), Diamondhead (Ben 10), and Platinum (Metal Men, DC).

Here is another version of the image where Danny has a rat tail belt. I thought it was kind of ugly, so it's not the way I'm picturing the character

Wildbow listed some potential powers/triggers for Danny including

If he triggered due to Annette's death, he would become a Master with control over a rat swarm morphed into the form of his wife, which over time he can change into a variety of different and flexible forms beyond simply swarming his opponents and slowly approaches the level of control of Taylor. (x)

This is not Danny's primary power in this fic, but there is a version of it. Danny's rats, which are made of dark, thin, moving tendrils, can build these humanoid bodies resembling Annette/Platinum by breaking down their bodies to tangle the material together, allowing the “woman” shape to be maintained, and by taking control of local rodents to add to their mass.

This makes them look like a writing mass of rodents but also causes them to share that animated, stringy quality that Danny's rats normally have.

These swarms are a very dark black, but I initially drew it as green because of Danny's aesthetic, and then I decided to make a red one because someone on Reddit came up with the name Vermillion (vermin/million), and I liked it enough to use it.

I know it's hard to tell the figures above are made of rats due to the coloring, but here's the linework where it's more clear:

Wildbow listed some potential powers/triggers for Danny including

If he triggered due to believing he failed as a father to Taylor, he becomes a Changer/Thinker who regurgitates all but the bare minimum of food needed to function into highly intelligent and durable rats which he has explicit control over. It is rather hard to kill the rats that he creates. He has a more generalised control over various rodents, but he has a much easier time controlling the rats he vomits up. He can see through their eyes, sense what they sense, and use them to control the other, general swarms. However, the more rats there are, the smaller his own perspective is, relative to the combined sensory input of all the various rats. (x)

For this fic, I am imagining Danny doesn't vomit fully formed rats. Instead, he vomits a black, stringy material that then winds itself together into a rat shape.
