Child of the Night

I'd say we here were insanely lucky regarding the heavy to extreme thunderstorms all over Europe. I've seen lightning left and right, there are countless reports of damage, I've seen videos of hail up to 2-3 inches, flooding, flooding with hail - even flooding full of hail. lol There have been power outages, etc. But I can report exactly one lightning strike very close to where I am. Bright and loud, heh. I think it may have hit a tree in a nearby orchard. Everything else was light to moderate rain. So far, so good. But after the last few weeks, it had to come crashing down sooner or later.

Fear isn't always tied to the present. Sometimes it's a shadow from the past; other times, it's a projection into the future. It's a fickle thing, isn't it? I don't even like to call it fear because it seems like an admission of something you don't want to admit, but isn't it just what it is? Persistently lingering and haunting you...

The illusion of control, the fragility of existence...

I might have gotten a little too excited about hearing thunder this morning because when I got up, I stubbed my little toe on the bedpost so hard that I had to sit down and catch my breath first.
