Of course, it wasn’t him, she knew it couldn’t be him. He wasn’t here, he wasn’t in Kola. But when she saw that man, darkness clouding him, her mind just instantly thought it was him. She didn’t even think, and just started running, as far and as fast as she could. Starting to run out of breath, G turned a corner and leaned against the wall, trying to calm herself. She stayed there for a while, waiting and waiting to make sure the man was gone. Once she was finally calm, she decided to peek behind, in the street. But rather than seeing the man, she ended up face to face with someone, making her jump out of surprise. “Shit. Don’t scare me like that.”

dante seemed amused when the other turned the corner and seemed almost frightened. he had seen her running and wanted to make sure she was okay. oddly enough. dante never cared about others happiness but something about this girl captivated him.  “are you okay? you seem scared? see a ghost?” he asked, raising an eyebrow at her. 

❝ we’ll be taking entries for the next MISS KOLA pageant starting tomorrow, so if you’ve ever wanted to be a pageant queen, now is your chance! ❞ she says into the microphone, before stepping away from the small stage at the coffee shop, usually used for the local musicians who came in to play open mic nights. she returns to the chair she’d been sitting in and takes a sip from her coffee, settling in to do some work.  // open

avery seemed rather annoyed by the announcement. it had ruined their morning coffee. “you know, pageants are rather stupid and make people feel awful about their bodies.” they announced as if the other actually wanted to have a conversation. “i think they’re one of the dumbest things invented.” they said closing their laptop as they shoved it into their bag. 

margo had been planning the party for weeks. why this one was so difficult she would probably never know. it was just that the host was very strict and it was very um hard to make things perfect. the party was a little under a week away so it was time to make sure the menu was perfect and that preparation was well underway. 

margo walked to the restaurant and specifically requested to talk to mitch. not only because she trusted him the most, but she wanted to set him and asia up. they were so perfect for each other. sure mitch didn’t know her plans, but that was fine. she hopped up on a stole and waited for him to come out from the back. 

❝ i’ve got a ballroom dancing class starting at six, if you’re interested in that. ❞ she says, leaning against the counter, ready to key in what she’d need to to issue a class pass. she’d been passing out flyers all day, hoping that her newer classes could gain some traction.  // open

“i don’t dance.” margo said, giggling quietly. “i just schedule dance classes for people to need them because they don’t know how to dance but want to for their wedding.” she said giggling. “if you have a flyer or a business card i can put it in my file and put you on the list of suggested places.”
