Want more control over which new messages get your attention? If you enable Message Requests in Labs, you’ll get a new section in your Messages menu to catch messages from blogs you don't follow or haven't messaged before. This only applies if your blog’s "Who can message me" setting is Everyone.

Message Requests won't send you a notification or add to your Inbox’s unread count, they wait until you decide what to do with them. Accept it to move it to your inbox, or report or delete it.
