why do people keep comparing minor embarrassing fandom shit to bronies

i have literally never seen a big fandom as aggressively toxic as the brony fandom. like god, unless a large number of people in a given fandom consider themselves an oppressed minority just for liking a certain piece of media while also spreading horrendous borderline fascist imagery for joke’s and sending death threats to minors who say they’re uncomfortable with certain parts of the fandom then no, they’re not worse than bronies
