Now this ball of fur looked familiar! With delight, the Grand Duke reached over to pet the feline firmly behind the ears. “Why, if it isn’t my furry little friend Simba. It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”

The Grand Duke stroked the lion cub gently–reaching up to scratch him behind the ear, down his back, and just under his chin. He made sure to give the cub a lot of attention. “Oh, just working.” Theodore gave a bright smile at the cub. “And you, Simba?”

“Me? Lots of stuff I guess. Pouncing, climbing, exploring, that kind of thing. Pretty much the usual stuff that lions do.” Small hums began to vibrate in the back of his throat as Theodore’s fingers reached his chin, which stopped momentarily.“Hehe, but you’re always doin’ that though. Every time I see you it’s work, work, work. Dontcha ever take any time off for fun or anything like that?” Guess he didn’t for whatever his personal reasons were, the same thing happened with Zazu come to think of it. 

“Just be careful.” She quietly noted to the cub with a sweet smile on her face.

“Are you okay? You look like you’re a little hot.. Do you need to get inside?”

“Hm? Oh, it’s okay. I’m used to the heat. It’s actually a lot cooler here than it is back home...wherever here is.”

The young prince craned his neck as the Grand Duke petted him firmly behind the ears, sending the man’s fingers deeper into his pelt. “Uh huh! I guess it has.” he chuckled, emitting a hum as he pulled back a little bit. “Whatcha been up to?” 

“Just look at you two. Little seeds of romance blossoming on the Savannah. Your parents will be *thrilled*, what with your being betrothed and all.”

Brown eyes turn back the the cub for a moment as she slowly reaches out a hand towards the cub. “You’ll be alright little one, I promise I mean you no harm I only wish to help.” She explained with her palm outstretched towards the cub.

“Uh..Hi.” Might as well just come out and say something at least. “My name’s Simba and I kinda got lost.” Well that was rather obvious wasn’t it? “And is...well is it okay if I stay here? Just till my leg gets better?” Knowing that she was there to help and not hurt him brought a great deal of comfort to the young lion. So much so that he could feel his ears perking up a tad. “If not I can find someplace else.” 

and then they argued about it on social media for days on end.
