It's most definitely leaning towards viewing PC as naive and inexperienced rather than stupid. I'd argue Eden sees themself as a saviour/guardian of PC, here to keep them safe.

Eden has seen and been through so much. To see PC willing to go back to town even though they're aware of how dangerous it is? I think it influences Eden viewing them this way.
