Some rough thumbnails and colour thumbnails for Here a Creak, There a Shriek! For the roughs thumbnails it was all about finding the best composition that felt right for the text and rhythm of the book. Once the thumbs were locked I moved into colour. We decided going with tonal palettes with heavy blacks and an accent colour for the highlights. From there it was using colours to help the flow of the story and building towards using red for the climax. I will share some of the final interior spreads next!

Some design work from a cancelled project from Axis Studios. Sadly the studio closed down in 2024. This project was a fun one and having the opportunity to work with Almu Redondo was amazing! Her work is stunning so be sure to check it out. I will post some more designs from this project over the next couple weeks!

All hands on Duck! 🏴‍☠️ Some more designs from the vaults. These were done for a project in development at Cake Entertainment and Sun and Moon Animation. I believe these characters and world were all Sam Shaws creation! Be sure to check out his incredible work!

Some early character work for a project that didn’t end up going any further. Unfortunately, that’s how it goes a lot of the time with early development work. Creatively it’s one of my most enjoyable parts of a project. That all being said these slimy boogers were fun to draw!

This years Krampus! 👹👺I like the idea of Krampus being a little small guy like a gremlin meets Tasmanian devil!
