KMFDM
KMFDM is a German industrial rock and metal band, founded in Paris in 1984 by Sascha Konietzko and the German painter Udo Sturm. The name KMFDM is an acronym for the German phrase "Kein Mitleid für die Mehrheit", which loosely translates to "No pity for the majority".
After forming, the band settled in Hamburg, Germany, and then moved to the United States, first to Chicago in 1991 and then to Seattle in 1993. Throughout their career, KMFDM has been a pioneer in the fusion of techno, dance and heavy metal, developing a characteristic industrial sound that they call "Ultra Heavy Beat"..
In 1999, KMFDM was briefly dissolved, but was reconstituted in 2002 by Konietzko. Since then, the band has continued to produce music and tour, cementing their status as one of the most influential bands in the industrial genre.
