We have some amazing news we’ve been waiting to share with all of you and something big to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. We just inked a book deal (I’ve alway wanted to say that)! Thank you all for reading and supporting our blog these past 2.5 years. But more importantly thanks for helping support street food and the hardworking chefs and owners behind the scenes who put a piece of themselves into each bite. One of our core missions from the start was to help promote this burgeoning industry and we’re proud to have a new outlet to continue that. We will be working with Page Street Publishing (distributed by Macmillan) on a Behind the Food Carts Cookbook that will include recipes and stories from carts all across America. In March, we’ll also be heading out on an all-American Road Trip to take pics and meet all the carts that will be featured in the book. Our still untitled book is slated to be released in late 2014!

If you’re a food cart, truck, stand anywhere in the US with some unique recipes that you’d like to share with people at home, please contact us.

Capital Fashion....

The much anticipated (at least in my house) Catching Fire opens today in France. The girls have been filming a "movie" of The Hunger Games for months now and are in the final stages of post-production. It's been a crazy few months coordinating actors and listening to them argue about editing scenes.........

Last Saturday, I spent the day sitting in my car while they filmed "The Bloodbath" (the scene at the beginning of The Hunger Games) with 5 classmates. It is amazing to watch their creativity and professionalism - even with a cast of 9 year olds!

A couple of weeks ago, I walked into the bathroom and found them like this........they told me it was "Capital Fashion". So here's a tribute to Katniss and Capital Fashion - hair, makeup and styling by Kiera and Avery Cotten. Off to the cinéma!

Katniss vs. Capital.....she gets my vote :)

Russian Ladies at the Ball

I had the honor of being the portrait photographer for the Russian Ball here in Biarritz this past weekend. The dresses were scrumptious. The gentlemen dashing. The entertainment was top notch and the food......delectable. The whole event reminded me of one of the big parties I had imagined in my mind while reading The Great Gatsby. I had an amazing time and really dug getting to mingle with royalty if only for the evening......next year, I will be wearing a white beaded gown too.
