when i was watching it, i was like, okay i have my crits here for sure, but why is this so hated online?? if anything it contains so many decisions that feel specifically made to soothe the audience. and then i come back to see peoples reactions and im like ah okay. i understand. youre all just fucking stupid

have barely seen anyone talking abt actual legit writing issues like pacing, dialogue etc and instead

"we didnt get to learn abt the other circus members" "we didnt get to learn more lore" as if that was ever the intention at all, putting pointlwss need to be able to fill in their wiki pages over the intent of the actual story

"no one communicated with anyone and it made the abstractions happen its out of character" that is the fuckifng point?? but also if you think that just talking it out couldve stopped the momentum of their abstractions ESPECIALLY JAX then youre dumb i dont think pomni couldve done anything to stop it at that point bc of how jax consistently acted and he clearly was going to have to reach that point to be open to any of what she had to say FUCK SHE DIDNT EVEN SAY ANYTHING THAT MADE HIM CHANGE it was him reaching the point of near death that did it and her just still being there

its just so fucking weird how people will point out shit like that, like pomni not reaching out in that one moment, and acting like its unfathomable that she wouldnt act according to like, a specific playbook, as if charavter writing is purely cause and effect and pokemon rock paper scissors if this then this and theres no room for deviation lest they be the dreaded OUT OF CHARACTER like as if random mistakes dont happen for a variety of reasons

"too much focus on jax" bro all of that was clearly really personal to the writer ofc she spent that much time on it if you seriously saw all the promo materials and the course of the story at that point and didnt expect that then idk what to tell you

just seeing all of the people like reacting on principle about stuff like "character balance" and stuff and not focused on what she was trying to communicate with the story at all makes me ubderstand why youve driven her fucking crazy
