A study in: familiar bonds, loss and grief, the supernatural and spiritual, visions and nightmares, artistic abilities
Every day, 𝐘𝐔𝐌𝐀 is plagued by nightmares that keep her awake at night and drain her body of vital energy until she puts them down on paper. And so she often paints until the early hours of the morning, until her mind finally finds peace.
She has turned her father’s old workshop into a gallery and sells her works there at high prices so she can keep her deceased parents’ home, even though she never really intended to make money from her art. Her real goal was simply to prevent her visions from consuming her and driving her to mental ruin, just as they once did to her mother. As one of thirteen children, her brother is all she has left.
To some, her paintings are melancholic works, to others, they are merely the dark fantasies of a tormented soul. No one knows that Yuma paints her nocturnal visions, which sooner or later become a sad reality.
Ghosts that haunt people, demons that devour her loved ones and beings whose existence is, for many, nothing more than superstition. But unlike her clients, Yuma knows that these beings truly walk among mortals. Creatures of the underworld and beings known only from fairy tales.
Her chalk pencils became her weapons, the paper her shield, and oil paints her magic. She can no longer change her past, but she intends to paint her own future.
