So!
Godpoke as a deity, at least in my interpretation, is the God of Bonds and Devotion, the god who encourages people to connect with eachother and with the other gods.
This shows in their design via the fact that they have physical manifestations of their own connections to their fellow deities, in the form of their scarves, each one a different colour and marked with a different symbol that represents one of the grove gods. Those scarves are also all woven together and braided into eachother behind their back, representing how the gods are all connected with eachother, not just to the Godpoke themself. They also have the big braided cord around their waist, with four colours to it representing the four regions of the Grove, calling to their role of bringing the Grove and it's people together. The bells on their ears are actually a connection symbol as well, being a gift from Patty who noticed once that their ears wiggled when they laughed, and gave them little bell earrings to give a sound to their laughter. They've been wearing the bells ever since, and in their divine form they count as a symbol of the God of Devotion's bond with the mortals of the world.
They've got the glowing heart on their chest for a similar reason to Mitternacht having her heart in her head and King having hers exposed via a hole in her chest. Where Mitternacht thinks with her heart, and King lets her heart be open to everyone, Godpoke is guided by their heart. So after their ascension, it becomes a literal guiding light, worn where everyone can see it.
Interestingly, their shapes don't change much in the transition from mortal to divine. They're a bit like King or Thespius, in that their appearance as a God is really more of an extension of who they were as a mortal. They're still roughly person shaped. They've still got the hat that kinda became iconic to their identity as Godpoke (but pushed back on their head so it kinda becomes a halo), the bag that they used to carry everything they needed to do their job, the bandanna that gave them something like a face when they didn't have one, and the boots and gloves that were their solid contact points with reality. They loved who they were once they had built an identity of their own, and in their ascension not much about them changed.
However, what they were made of did change. Because before their ascension, they were effectively a walking shadow. And that ability to fade into the background is a major part of who they are, but as a God it becomes something else. Instead of a shadow, easily missed, ignored, or forgotten, they become a silhouette cut right out of the sky, made of skystuff and clouds and stars and the sun, with their colouration and the weather that plays across their skin shifting depending on their mood and the time of day. Instead of something that disappears if you aren't looking at it, they're something that can exist peacefully regardless of whether they're observed or not.
Very very important to me: When they ascend they bring Megapon with them. That is their soulmate, they are not leaving her behind, they love her far too much. After years of working with different Godpokes, seeing several of them (Huzzle Mug, Click Clack, and King if u follow my headcanons) ascend while leaving her behind, finally she gets to come along too.
The floral imagery in this design is specific to the HIT AU, but I'll explain it too because I love it a lot, in HIT the Godpoke was a part of the rebellion pushing back against Inspekta and trying to retake the Grove and get the gods back up into the sky, and they started using floriography as a means of communication and of self expression. To represent themself, they picked Snowdrop flowers, which they painted on their boots and on the brim of their hat, because Snowdrop flowers represent perserverance, hope, friendship, and strength in times of diversity. Megapon also got a flower symbol, being painted with an Iris, the symbol of divine messengers.
Also unique to HIT deitypoke is the slightly scuffed up and tattered edges on their entire design, as HIT is defined by a more extended period of crisis for the Grove, it's gods, and it's citizens. In that AU, Godpoke's bonds are quite literally forged in fire and so their appearance as a god reflects that, scuffed, frayed, cracked, and worn, but not yet destroyed. Held together by their bonds with eachother, and made strong despite the struggles they've been through together.
In a more canon-adjacent timeline, deitypoke trades the floral imagery for geometric and celestial imagery, calling to the idea of sunrise and sunset because of a silly theory of mine that I got while first playing the game and still find fun even if it was proven false, and they're not nearly so scuffed up.
I really like drawing deitypoke, I should do it again sometime : D
