I don't think I've ever considered what Sisko did before he was in command. He fits command so well. But I'm rewatching If Wishes Were Horses and he Clearly used to be an engineer, or a scientist. This man programmed his own baseball holograms!! He built an ancient lightship!! He built a model of the house he was planning to build - doing all his own architecture!! I won't count that clock he built because there were external sci fi factors at the time, but I don't even Have to. Benjamin Sisko is a technical genius and I've been absolutely sleeping on it
