about:
as the only child born to older parents, nico has always felt like he needed to do whatever was expected of him. he excelled at school, had plenty of extracurriculars he was good at, and even eventually picked up a part time job working at an ice cream parlor on the weekends.
life has been pretty easy for him except for the crushing weight of his family’s expectations.
his parents want him to become a doctor. that’s why he decided on biology as a major. now that he’s studying it though he’s a lot more interested in animal and environmental biology rather than anything to do with humans or medicine. so far, his parents have no clue and he intends to keep it that way for as long as he can.
getting a scholarship to join ss uni felt like it was his chance to get away from his controlling family - even they couldn’t disagree that he should take the opportunity.
now, he’s trying to use his time on the ship to really come of out of his shell, be himself, and let loose without worrying about what other people will say.

“just out of curiosity. would you go for a bust or a full body statue?” he wanted to know. “also. i don’t believe you have any bad angles? uh... just saying.” nico laughed and nodded. “i agree. if it leads to her being less strict even for five minutes i approve.”
“I know I’d be way too scared to question more in to it… unless she had some really cool way of using it to dye my hair…” Sierra reconsidered after initially saying it. “I’ve never done it. I know you somehow use the ink in the highlight mixed with conditioner or something? But I think even on my hair it’d be more of a pastel colour rather than a vibrant neon one as much as I think I could pull off a couple neon strips.”
“that seems easy enough to do! if you see me with slightly pink or blue hair in the next few days don’t be surprised. quinn would probably kill me if i did a bad dye job though” he thought out loud, considering his roommate’s reaction to terrible hair changes. “i think you’d look really good with them! i don’t think you could ever look bad though.”

“ah! i totally understand.” he chuckled softly as he pushed his hair back, thinking of other mischievous things they could possibly do until he realized something. “hold on, you may think of me as a bad influence which i am not, by the way. hmm, fine, occasionally i am.”
“i mean... i don’t know what else i would call you since you want to do something bad! it’s fine though. i think i need more bad influences. so feel free to be my influencer!”
“yeah, same,” she laughs. “what’s a prank you’ve always wanted to do but never got the courage to do it?” she wonders.
“back in high school someone in my year rented a goat from a petting zoo and left it in the principal’s office with some food and water. i always thought it would be really funny if someone came into their office and just saw a goat. oh and it was wearing a shirt with the school logo! what’s the prank of your dreams?”

“If you ask me, it sounds like the TA might have done a dye job on the rats…” She suggested. “You’d probably have to get your hair as blonde as possible for something like that to work. It’s like people using highlighter ink to dye their hair.”
“you’re right... she is sounding a little suspicious now! might have to ask her more about it” nico agreed with a nod. “oh. i didn’t think about the bleach part. highlighter? have you ever done that? imagining a couple neon green streaks in my hair right now. what do you think?”
“I mean I haven’t seen you do anything bad as of yet, so until I do - your a good person in my eyes. Just don’t cross me,” she grinned, scrunching her face up at the other.
“uh oh. why? what would you do if i crossed you? not that- not that i’m planning on it. just wondering!”
“your standards for heroship could perhaps use some revision,” he replied jokingly. “tell me this, just how long will i need to avoid your professor until suspicion dies down? i really do not need a demerit this early in the program.”
“nope! it’s set in stone now” nico replied quickly with the same huge smile on his face. “honestly? probably just a few days. i know she’s very strict and serious but i swear i saw her laughing to herself about it when she thought no one was watching.”
