Dear Diary,
Knox asked me to meet his parents. He didn't say it explicitly. His parents have invited me to thanksgiving dinner. Knox said I don't have to if I don't want to, but I could tell that he wants me to come. I'm just unsure. It seems like a really big step to be taking so soon. We've only been dating for a couple of weeks.
Emmerson: Hey, Knox?
Knox: Yeah?
Emmerson: This might sound a bit weird but, what are we doing?
Knox: What do you mean?
Emmerson: Like right now? Are we going on a date? Are we just hanging out?
Knox: *laughs* Well, I thought we were on a date, but if this is your way of friendzoning me...
Emmerson: No, nothing like that! We just never discussed it.
Knox: What's to discuss? I like you, and I hope you like me back, and that doesn't really need a label, don't you think?
Emmerson: Yeah, you're right.
Knox: But if it makes you feel better then we can call it whatever you want.
Emmerson: Thank you, but it's ok. I guess I was just worried that you just saw me as a friend.
Knox: You know what? That makes two of us.

It's official! Knox and I went for a walk after school today and I finally got the nerve to ask him what we are. And yeah, we're now officially dating. I'm glad. I get butterflies every time I think about him and I love spending time with him. I am a little anxious about what we'll do when next year comes around and I'm off at school, but we can cross that bridge when we get to it. For now I'm to just be happy.
Knox: May I have this dance?
Emmerson: *blushes* You may.
Knox: You look beautiful tonight.
Emmerson: Thank you. You do too.
Knox: *laughs*

Can't keep their eyes off each other

Dear Diary,
I had so much fun last night! I'm so glad Cecilia invited me. Her friends are so much fun to hang out. I swear I didn't stop laughing the whole night. I kind of had to throw my costume together last minute, but I don't think anyone noticed. Knox sure didn't seem to... He actually asked me to dance. Maybe he was just trying to stay in character, but he was a total gentleman about it. I'm pretty sure I saw him looking over to me a few times too. Maybe this means he'll finally ask me out properly.
Cecilia: So I've noticed you and Knox have been spending some time together.
Emmerson: Yeah, he asked me to go for coffee with him the other day.
Cecilia: And?
Emmerson: And nothing. We talked, had a good time, and then went home.
Cecilia: So it wasn't a date?
Emmerson: That's just the thing; I don't know! He wasn't super specific when he asked me and I didn't want to make it weird by clarifying.
Cecilia: Typical boy. *shakes head* Did you want it to be a date?
Emmerson: I don't know. Maybe? Kind of. But I barely know him. But he seems really sweet. He helps his parents on their farm and he's trying to graduate early so that he can work for them full time, which is very considerate and selfless.
Cecilia: Mmhmm, sounds like you like him.
Emmerson: I think you're right. *laughs nervously*
Cecilia: *laughs* It's understandable, he's cute! But just be careful ok? Sometimes when guys don't specifically tell you they're asking you on a date it because they have commitment issues.
Emmerson: I am! I don't know if I can let myself get too attached anyway. I'm planning to go to University next year, and long distance relationships don't usually work out too well.
Cecilia: That's true.
Cecilia: Off topic but, are you planning to come to my Halloween party later?
Emmerson: I don't know. My family doesn't usually celebrate it. I don't even have a costume.
Cecilia: Please!? Halloween is basically a religion in my house! And you don't need a fancy costume. Just about anything works if you're creative.
Emmerson: Ok, but only if I don't have to touch any more pumpkin slime!
Cecilia: *laughs* Cross my heart!

My fingers still feel sticky! Cecilia came over today and we spent the entire afternoon carving pumpkins. We were both up to our elbows in pumpkin slime! What I've learned is I love almost everything about pumpkins. I like the smell, the taste, the look, just not the feel!
