Knowing each other’s hearts was easy when friendship was all that stood between them, but during a spontaneous trip, far from home, far from Chicago, the dense fog of everything they knew about each other gently evaporates. Feelings are confusing.

Ian lives in a city bursting with life, yet he feels his body slipping into the shadows of the apartment he shares with nameless strangers. If this keeps up, he might lose himself completely—trapped in cigarette smoke, wrestling with a mind that offers no answers. No one seems to see him. Until now. Mickey, a wild boy who uses music to claw at his wounds, though it never makes them vanish. He’s exhausted, bruises blooming as bright as the colors he sprays across the streets, lying on his bed. Alone in this fucking world—and he doesn’t care.

All the scenes Mickey manages to shoot end up bearing the mark of a stranger who, hidden behind poisonous words, keeps throwing bombs at him. Ian is a ruthless film critic with a particular addiction to a director he's never met. When they cross paths behind other names, desire ignites like a blast. But neither knows that between their walls, pseudonyms shield them, and they grind their teeth, aching to tear each other apart.
