As further development on making our advice book and greeting cards. Our final idea for this project was to create an app design where people could request something they might like to be illustrated with our style and buy it from us. The app works in the way that you choose something to design, such as a card or postcard etc... then if card is chosen, you choose what type of card, then submit all your request details and information. The prints will only be payed for once viewed and the customer is happy with the design.

Here are some of the professional photographs we took in the studio today of our advice book. We needed some photographs of the book in the studio ready for our PDF’s and boards.

‘Hands’ Alphabet

I have always had a very strange fascination with hands as I find it amazing how people can speak a language through them, that being the reason that I decided to create this typeface for my 1 day brief. I like how it isn't completely 100% clear what it says until you take the time to read it properly as it is slightly odd and distorted.

For the final part of my NMP I wanted to challenge myself to complete a 1 day brief that I focused solely on for the day. I really enjoy typography and coming up with new ideas for typefaces, therefore I decided this is what I wanted to do for my final project as I wanted to show my skills in producing something I really enjoy. I illustrated each letter going off some photographs I took of hands making out each letter of the alphabet and then added colour to bring them to life a bit.

A few variations of the logo I designed for a customer request, along with the final chosen design. Myself and the customer are really happy with the final logo.

In the guide I produced for this brief I created a section on it named ‘What does your sauce choice say about you?’ where I came up with characteristics for the people who buy each sauce. I came up with these based on a thesaurus search on ‘sweet’, ‘medium’ and ‘spicy’. I thought including these in the posters would be something different and unique and would make people stop and read them.
