NICO GHOST, a brand new artist that’s making an enormous impact on the experimental scene.  With his already hit track, ‘Coolin’” GHOST is breaching new fronts of the genre plagued music industry.  His flow resembles style qualities found in other artists, but he observes the culture around him and makes it completely his own.  Which is why we believe he’s made such an impact so early on.  His sound is familiar, yet still unheard.  Once again, Australia is producing great artists just like last year.  NICO GHOST has already made a name for himself with the release of this one track, and we can’t wait to see how he continues.

Could you introduce yourself? Hi, my name is Nico and I’m an artist based in Melbourne, Australia.

Why music?  What started it all? It all started with a feeling I got when I heard a Nelly song. #1. I wanted to be able to evoke feeling and emotion in others. Sound was the beginning. There was the light and there was sound. Music allows me to share the light with my sound.

What can you tell us about your track, “Coolin’”?   You know sometimes when you think people don’t see things the way that you do? It’s probably true, you probably see things differently and that’s cool. You coolin’. They don’t see it how you do.

How does it feel to get so much attention from your music, this early on? It feels like ice cream on a summer day. All the love that is coming my way only fuels the fire.

What’s your life philosophy.  How do you try to apply that to your work? FEAR doesn’t exist. Let it dissolve and you will be free. I just go with the flow and let the light lead me and everything falls into place. You have to listen to that voice.. that voice you hear in the stillness of your mind.

When applied to my work… I am absolutely free to express myself in anyway I want to.

What are your personal thoughts on the music world today?  Do you feel that music is the main outlet for change and acceptance in society? I like the music world atm. I’m seeing all these artists destroying “normal” and it’s very inspiring. World needs freedom, change is near, you can see and feel it. It’s time for a DNA upgrade.

Could you tell us one change you would like to see in the music world? Barriers broken and boundaries crossed. Nothing can be considered “not allowed”. It’s strange or out of the ordinary. Extraordinary is what we should aim for.

What are your thoughts on image in the music industry?  How would you describe yours? Image is a bigger issue than it should be, but that being said, people are always attracted to some sort of aesthetic. While it is important, it shouldn’t overshadow the music. Listen to what is being said rather than look at who is saying it.

Could you walk us through your creative process? I feel and create. I like to retreat into my mind and find what I’m looking for. My dreams inspire me.
