Finally coming out of a reading slump... hopefully for a while this time!

I read several comics and graphic novels through my local library and that inspired me to pick up Nausea again, which I've tried starting a couple of times but havent gotten very far with (even though I've been enjoying it).

As for Reaper Man, I've kinda flown through it and I think it's probably one of my fave Discworld books so far! Though I've only actually read 10 others...

The books I brought on my weekend away. I managed to finish Q in Law, which was absolutely hilarious (in my opinion) and I'm almost done with Read This to Get Smarter.

I also picked up a couple of books while I was out and about, because I have zero shelf-control...

It's been too long since I posted, lot's of little reasons for that, too dull to list. These days, I mostly listen to audio books or read ebooks from the library, but I'm still chipping away at my TBR and re-reading a few favourites.

Kestrel for a Knave is a real classic, I suppose the film is probably more well known than the book (naturally, the book is better), but I think most people of a certain generation in England, the north at least, would be familiar with this story.

Smashing It was a great read! I'm often drawn to things about the working class, but I admit I picked this up specifically because it has pieces from Riz Ahmed, Maxine Peake, Malorie Blackman and Michaela Coel. Every piece throughout the book had something valuable to say though, so I'm really glad I bought it!

This is the Canon is one I've picked up and gotten distracted from a couple of times, though I did enjoy it, particularly the 'if you like this, try' sections.

I didn't realise it had been so long since I last posted! I haven't been reading much over the last few months, but I'm (hopefully) coming out of a slump and will be posting again (in theory).

So far this year I've mostly read comics on kindle, but I've been trying to get through some of my physical tbr too! Hopefully this year I'll get back into the swing of reading regularly again, I'm off to a good start at least.

I feel like the author tried to cram a bit too much into this book, so some of the stories felt a bit stunted. However, I did find it an emotional read and I loved the artwork, especially the use of colour throughout.

I know I haven't posted in forever, but I am still alive (and hoarding books at an alarming rate). Check out this beauty that I picked up in the shop I work at!

This fifth edition was published in 1918 and has a dedication from 1920... and it smells amazing (if you know, you know).

Nobody's interested in the details, but I just wanted to say that this blog isn't dead, mental health just got in the way! Hopefully I will be reading (and interacting/updating) more regularly from now on.

I loved the Guild when the web series first came out, I only just found out about the comics... This edition was payment for a commission and now has pride of place in my collection! It's pretty dated now, and if you weren't a fan of the show originally then it's probably not very enjoyable, however, I loved it and I'm sure I'll enjoy reading it again!

The Survival Handbook was a library book I forgot I had (oops), I think it's a pretty cool book for young adults/teens and I even found some useful info in it for myself.

My art teacher loaned me the Ilustrated Journal and I loved it so much that I popped it onto my wishlist. There are very few art books I have an urge to own, but this is one of them.
