I am so happy to be painting with watercolors again. I have been painting large paintings for so long, that I almost forgot how much these smaller creations warm my heart. I never got to meet Judy, but I did get to meet Liza one New Year's Eve at Siegfried and Roy's party. She was so gracious. Artist Nick San Pedro painted 'Mr. Green' in 2004. The painting of an anonymous man was inspired by the artist's love of fashion photography. San Pedro was inspired to create many paintings of non famous people during this time, after a conversation over coffee with Penn Jillette. Penn said that San Pedro's ambiguous portraits captivated him more than some of the artist's celebrity portraits. While San Pedro is grateful for his work gaining fame through celebrity, it's also fun for him to create works with some mystery. The original 'Mr Green' painting resides in a private collection.
