Demi continued to bounce Amelia in her arms, smiling at her daughter before pressing kisses to her cheeks and forehead. Rubbing her back, she hummed to herself as she got a water bottle from the fridge, taking a sip. “What’s this?” she asked Amelia while grabbing one of the toys sitting on the kitchen table. “Wanna show mama how to play the tambourine?” she asked as Amelia giggled happily, squealing loudly before rattling it and hitting one side of it with her hand. Demi laughed at how adorable she was, pressing more rounds of kisses to her cheeks. No loud crowd could compare to the sounds of happiness emitting from her tiny daughter.

Hearing Nick come down the steps, she grinned widely and instantly turned to him, not wanting to wait any longer to be closer to him. “I missed you so much..” she murmured, finding herself in his arms as she embraced him back, still keeping Amelia propped on her hip. She exhaled, only to breathe in the faint lingering scent of his cologne. Tipping her head back, she leaned in to kiss him, melting into the familiar feeling once more. Amelia started to fuss, annoyed before Demi chuckled. Pressing a kiss to her daughter’s forehead, she still remained embraced with her husband. She was so glad to be home, away from the road and chaos.

Nick missed Demi. He hated being away fro her for so long, but he also knew that touring was one of Demi’s passions and he always tried to make it to as many shows as possible so Amelia wouldn’t have to be without her mommy for too long. Whenever they visited her shows, Amelia had the time of her life. She was so happy and bubbly and even though she could barely walk, she always stood on her chubby little legs and bounced to the music. The singer smiled brightly as he saw his wife again and embraced her. “I missed you, too.” he whispered and kissed the spot beneath her ear before he pulled back and cupped her cheeks, kissing her lips passionately. “How was your flight? I bet you must be exhausted.” he said and looked at their daughter who leaned her head against Demi’s shoulder. 

A sigh fell from Demi’s lips when her driver pulled up to the house, relieved to be home after a full leg of shows for North America, The hectic schedules mixed with being a wife and a mother made her feel more than just a little bit overwhelmed. The singer adored her fans and performing on stage, but being home with her family was where she felt her best. Thanking Max as he helped her out, she rolled the luggage onto the pavement of her porch, using the light that illuminated from her house to navigate her way onto the steps. Her flight landed around 8 PM, and all she wanted to do was come home and relax.

Fidgeting with her keys as she loosed the lock, the singer opened the front door and smiled to herself, setting her suitcases near the edge of the hallway. Amelia was settled on the floor of the living room in the playpen, eyes widening when she saw her mom home. “Mama!” she squealed, dropping her rattle and reaching for Demi, fussing impatiently. Demi giggled, taking her sneakers off and then beelined to her baby girl, immediately cooping her into her arms. “Hi baby, I missed you so much..” she murmured, kissing her cheek as she gently rocked her. Her dark eyes wandered for Nick, letting Amelia play with the strings of her sweatshirt. “Where’s Daddy?” she asked Amelia who simply cooed happily. “Hey where’s my husband?” she called out, beginning to walk to the kitchen with Amelia giggling in her arms.

“She’s gonna be home soon, baby girl.” Nick smiled at his daughter as he bounced her on his hip, preparing a bottle for her. He’s been waiting for this day forever and couldn’t hold back his excitement. His wife was finally coming home from her tour and they finally got to be together again as a family. There was nothing that excited him more than knowing they had a few days off alone. “And as soon as she’s here, I’m sure you’re gonna get all the cuddles and kisses again.” he said and closed the bottle before looking at his daughter and handing it to her. The one-year-old grabbed her bottle and began to drink. Nick chuckled a little and kissed her chubby, rosy cheek before walking into the living room with her again. He placed Amelia down in the playpen, running his hand over her dark curls before he began to clean a little. He checked the clock every now and then. He knew her flight would land at 8PM which means she’d be here half an hour later. Of course it was already way past Amelia’s bedtime, but he wanted her to se her mommy before going to bed.
