first art post ! my anxiety goes crazy showing my art to anyone but here’s a ref for my courier!! this is a bit older but her design hasn’t changed at all so i thought id post it. there’ll be more info + her backstory below :)
she has a “horse!” his name is marigold. this is the primary way she traverses the mojave as she cannot walk or stand for long periods of time
to conceal her identity, she is referred to with masculine traits while inside of her armor. when in armor, she speaks very briefly and has a modulator to alter her voice, similar to most suits of power armor
the lenses on her ranger helmet have been altered to function as glasses for her, as she has limited vision. she wears actual glasses outside of her armor!
benny shot her in the jaw and then the forehead. the scar from the shot in her jaw was able to be repaired smoothly by doc mitchell because the thicker metal “mask” absorbed most of the shock from the bullet. the scar from the shot in her head is hidden under her bangs!
she is very, very close with boone. not only was her dad first recon, boone sees the child he never had in her. even though they like to travel in mostly silence, they deeply care for one another
despite her distant demeanor she is surprisingly friendly with the rest of the companions. arcade and veronica are her two best friends :)
very brief version of her backstory since i could write about it all day !
raised by her dad Wolfe and her mom Maggie. Wolfe was a first recon ranger who retired to raise her, and her mom was a follower of the apocalypse who regularly traveler to areas outside of the mojave to assist anyone she could
Wolfe and Maggie met! fell in love! since Maggie now had someone to truly rely on, she decided to start her own traveling caravan to bring help even further outside of the mojave. Wolfe acted as her protection and company along the roads. yay baby courier born! life happens! once courier turns 16, legion horrifically ambushes her mom and dad’s caravan due to her father’s former first recon status, despite the fact that they would heed the legion’s demands for payment to keep caravans safe on the roads they occupied. they both die! kiddo courier was presumed dead due to the fact legion dogs completely ravaged her arm and leg + they didn’t want to waste a cross on a kid + she would’ve been too disabled to contribute as a meaningful slave
due to the fact they were ambushed not too far outside of the strip as the legion wanted to make an example of her father’s body for most of the first recon to see, kiddo courier decides to lock in and drag herself all the way to the old mormon fort to receive medical treatment for her arm and leg. she is informed she will be permanently disabled due to horrific nerve + tissue damage on her arm and leg.
after barely recovering, she silently escapes the old mormon fort and is basically never seen again becomes kind of an urban myth. she goes into deep hiding all across the mojave for about 5 years, studying her mother’s work + followers knowledge + everything under the sun. after these 5 years, she feels confident in her studies and decides to become a courier to pay respect to both of her parents, traveling and supplying aid and knowledge. she is a courier for around 4 years. then platinum chippy! CUE NEW VEGAS INTRO CUTSCENE!!!!!!
