Autumn Rain
Time passes sweetly
In the autumn rain.
And those subtle moments
Have permeated with muted refrain.
Now the crunch of winters ice
Breaks the silent midnight air.
And I am ambivalent to the memories
Of the girl who was never there.
The comfort of strangers
Feels warmer than your strange leaden touch.
Maybe the cold of the south
Has eviscerated your heart
Or does it lay dormant
Waiting for spring to start.
