This is an aerial view of Trementina Base, a compound built by the Church of Scientology in rural northeastern New Mexico. Allegedly, it protects a fortified mountainside vault where the complete writings of church founder L. Ron Hubbard can be safely preserved in case of an apocalypse. Nobody knows exactly what these circular designs carved into the ground actually mean, as the church itself won’t discuss them; former members say it’s a sort of guidepost to help Hubbard find his way to the base when he returns to Earth from his final resting place on a distant planet.
