“Maybe.” Em said, laughing wetly as she looked over at him. She smiled softly and shook his hand. “I’m Em Tyler.” She laughed softly and let go of his hand. Maybe they just needed to forget about everything, but how could they. How could she? She looks exactly like the person he’s trying to forget and she just feels so….worthless and useless and just not one of a kind.

“It’s nice to meet you Em.” He huffed out a laugh allowing himself to finally fully smile. Thing’s weren’t easy for him but then again things weren’t easy for anyone in Beacon Hills but he could tell it might be changing. The air nipped at his neck raising goosebumps and making his hair stand on end as he shifted his weight between his legs. It was getting colder by the minute but he didn’t want to end seeing Em just yet. Letting his teeth tug on his bottom lip he shoved his hands in his pockets before speaking up, “Are you hungry at all? I know we barely know each other but possibly up for changing that?”

“It’s nice to meet you too Derek.” She replied, laughing softly and for the first time actually smiling a real smile. Life wasn’t easy it would always through something your way to challenge you. She smiled and hugged herself tightly, it was getting a bit nippy out and she was someone who got cold easily. “I am actually. Yes I would like that very much.”

AU: Derek didn’t do anything wrong, okay?! He just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. And Chris Argent happened to be there too. Okay, so maybe Derek didn’t have a good excuse for this one but he’ll manage. Somehow. Unless, of course, Sheriff Stilinski figures out Derek is dating Stiles (who just had to come by the station right now). If this happens, spending day or two in jail might be the smallest punishment. Unlike, let’s say, being shot by the Sheriff. It’s all Stiles fault - Derek wanted to be introduced as his boyfriend months ago. Preferably during the dinner at the Stilinskis’ house. Not at the freaking police station when he’s handcuffed to a bench. For something he didn’t do. Derek hates his life.
