fan hate is an interesting one & something i hadn’t really considered until now! so in my au no one is homophobic bc tbh i didn’t really wanna deal with that in my fantasy la la land (sadly irl it is very much prevalent, especially in men’s football spaces) so they won’t get any backlash of that kind. some liverpool fans will send hate and shout shit at games (mostly about how he’s betrayed liverpool by fucking a manc, ect), but most don’t really care about who their players are shagging if they perform on the pitch. neither of them care very much anyways, having to develop thick skin over the years, & since they’ve been together for so long, they’re kind of used to it once the kids come about.

gary gets more jealous i would say, on account of jamie being this footballing star & athlete. he knows that jamie loves him, but he can’t help but feel inadequate beside all of the men and women vying for jamie’s attention. this is sorted real quick tho once they have a conversation, & carra always makes sure to let gary know how loved and treasured he is. 💗💗
