âI have some theories, and I think they should be heard and considered as valid possibilitiesâbecause has anyone considered aliens yet?â Oh, Reiss was no fool. Heâd seen Signs. And Alien. And AVP. And, like, Monsters vs Aliens. That was a different flavor, but it was still an alien movie. Oh! Independence Day, heâd definitely seen that one too. âIâm telling you, we say itâs aliens? Untapped goldmine, folks. We can turn this place into a tourist trap overnight, and use the money to build a mall. The mall is, of course, just so we can have an Auntie Anneâs.â He grabbed a bag of pretzels and dropped them into his basket. Â

Tony ran a hand over his face as he leaned back in his seat. He hadnât eaten at all since his measly dinner of unevenly warmed toaster waffles and beer the day before and the found bodies had left him running about town like a madman. The county barely had enough deputies to patrol the area, much less deal with the scene in the middle of town square, of all places.Â
It looked deliberate, at least to him. Brutal, yes, but nothing that even a black bear would do. It just didnât make sense and ever since his own unexplained run-in with⌠whatever they, she, had been he had been on edge.Â
He groaned, prying his eyes open to glare at the burger sat in front of him only to see a figure sitting across form him.Â
âJesus fucking Christ, where the hell did you come from. Hasnât anyone told you to never surprise someone with a gun?âÂ
â
âNo, canât say anyone ever has...but thatâs probably because the people who learned that advice can only really share it with the grave. Get it? Because they got shot. Because of the gun.â Reiss nodded slowly and rolled his wrist in front of him, palm facing up, like the explanation of his joke had been a great gift. âFirst questionâwell. Came from a lot of places. But most recently, I came from the town square, because I had plans to toss a penny in the fountain. Had a wish to make. But there seems to be some issue down there so uh...â Reiss leaned back in the booth and bushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. âAny idea when that might be cleared up? You know. For the wish I was gonna make.â
[ ADAM BRODY, 38, CIS MAN, HE/HIM ] REISS MORTENSEN just walked down main street. They are a BAKER who has been in Willowdale for THREE MONTHS. They are part of the MORTENSEN pack and act as THE BETA. People around town knows them as CHARMING & UPBEAT but also as CALCULATING & VENGEFUL. They are described as DUSTED FLOUR ON PARCHMENT PAPER, A DECEPTIVELY SHARP CHILL ON A SUNNY DAY, AND THE CLATTERING OF DICE ROLLING IN A CUP.
Itâs me, Soap, back at it again with the subpar intros! Under the cut is some more information about Reiss. Heâs like...okay.Â
+ Reiss has been second best most his life, but if you ask him, itâs hardly for lack of skill, itâs more for lack of trying. Whether thatâs actually true or not, the fact remains that heâs always been number two.Â
+ Heâs never minded that. Reiss likes the ability to be vocal about his decisions without the direct responsibility. He doesnât look like muchâhardly the most intimidating wolf in the woods. but what he lacks in size and strength he makes up for in cunning and sheer pettiness.Â
+ He acts like he doesnât care much about the reasons why the Mortensen pack is in Willowdale. He cracks a lot of jokes about the place and while heâd certainly rather be in a big city with a Trader Joeâs and the two story McDonaldâs, he was one of the big proponents for coming here. He knows thereâs strong energy at work here and he thinks itâll help them in their EONS LONG FUED. Heâd love for that to be over, boy.Â
+ Reiss has a very dry humor about him, and treats most things in a very frivolous way. Itâs just how he deals with things. Cavalier, they call him. Heâll tell you himself that it basically means heâs an asshole, but like, a funny one. So itâs cool, right?
+ His pack is #NotNice. Theyâre not known for being gentle weres, and Reiss, though on the less aggressive side as some of his family, also believes that power is for those who have the guts to take it. Most of that is because he was raised by a family that for generations has held this mindset.
+ Part of him almost wouldnât mind giving it all up. Hell, sometimes Reiss just wants to be a baker and have a family and become a grumpy old man who tells people to stay off his lawn. But he also feels like he has a duty to the pack.Â
+ Heâs known for being one of the least formally intimidating Mortensens...but boy is he a bad one to cross. Reiss has a long memory and a real petty streak, and he has gone far, far out of his way to get back at people he believes have wronged him or someone he cares about.Â
+ Heâs got a gambling problem, and you can make him do almost anything if you turn it into a game. Heâs got a bit of cheshire cat energy to him sometimes.Â
There is A LOT more, but I wanted to get something up and out so that Iâm not plotting blind! Iâll be around to plot with people and get some replies out!Â

With the way the day had started he was only surprised that the day ended relatively normally. At least he got to work on a few jobs today which meant he could go to the bar, and enjoy himself a beer. He was sat up at the bar, arms resting on the edge of it as he listened to the chatter around him. Everyone had mentioned what had happened at least once in their conversation, no surprise to him considering it was still so new and fresh in everyoneâs mind. âCrazy day, huh?â He said out loud to no one in particular, his hand wrapped around the nearly empty bottle that sat in front of him. Heâd swirl around the liquid inside before downing the last bit of it, placing it to the side a little so it was out of the way. âAll Iâve been hearing âbout today is what happened in the town square, hopefully theyâll find who mightâve done it soon.â
âOh, yeah, well, I have a hard time believing they donât already know who did it.â Reiss shrugged one non-committal shoulder and scratched his nail on the label of the cold bottle of beer in his hands. âThatâs the one thing I know about small towns. They always got some murderous bastard hanging out in the wood with a tool shed full of rusty weapons but everyoneâs just like, ah, thatâs just olâ mister wilkerson, heâd never hurt a fly. So he goes on murdering for another forty years until he dies and then his ghost haunts the place. Right? Thatâs how it goes?â

The first day we shot, seeing him⌠and his character is a drunk; and I remember seeing him in the beginning of the movie and I was like âOh. He looks how drunks look at the end of other movies and this is the beginning of the movie so itâs only gonna get worse!â I think heâs sweaty for 90 minutes of the film and just gets sweatier and sweatier, and more neck-beard, neck-beard, neck-beard and [Adam Brody] was all about doing that.
