randomly got a flashback to when I was so lonely as a teenager, I caught my mom crying when I said I’d made a friend and they wanted to come over but cancelled last minute. I can’t imagine what that must feel like as a mom
started watching more documentaries to get smarter but all that’s happened is that I am now weirdly attracted to Louis Theroux
everyone always comparing Anakin to Lucifer the fallen angel which is fair but he is literally Achilles if you deep it
am I crazy or is there a symbolic connection between Helen of Troy and those predator catch guys who beat up other men and use them being predators as an excuse to act out their disturbing violent fantasies. something something Helen of Troy and how her beauty never was the problem, the war was always bound to happen, men would always wage war, they just wanted a woman to point at and pin the fault on

God I looooove rereading my own fanfics!! every single work I've ever done started out with me looking for a very specific combination of my favorite kinks, turn ons, fluff, and tropes, so when I didn't find anything with all that in it, of course I decided to write it myself.
So now there is this piece of writing, perfectly tailored for me, by me. Of course I'm gonna go back from time to time when I don't remember every single detail anymore and can read it again like its someone else's.
I'm fully cheesing and blushing over my own writing and yeah sometimes I find small mistakes, but overall I'm content with my writing and I don't feel the need to tidy evrything up endlessly
It scares me when I see younger generations struggle to come to conclusions a story is very blatantly spelling out for them. I guess it's a result of "netflix writing" which is when they overexplain every action a character is doing because they assume that most of the audience will be on their phone or have the show/movie on as background noise. My latest example of where I see a lot of young viewers struggle to undestand basic plot points is with 'Obsession'. It concerns me to see people struggle to find meaning in the poem Nikki recites – which is an incestuous take on the tale of Hansel and Gretel, where Hansel rapes his sister. I've seen people call the scene random or pointless because they don't stop to think about what the implications here are and what it says about how Nikki views Bear. You guys need to think critically about the stories you consume. Stop, sit and think!! This is why native language courses in school exist. Not just to learn the grammar of your spoken language, but to learn how to read universal context clues, to think critically, to understand literary devices. Because storytelling matters and you guys are gonna "ChatGPT, why does this character say that?" yourself into being illiterate idiots, unable to discern any meaning from something that's in front of you, which is gonna translate into a lack of skills on how to handle real life human interactions. Yes, the average American struggles to read above a 6th grade level, which is sad, but the literacy crisis really scares the shit out of me because most of you guys lack basic comprehension skills. Sit and think!!
these kids have had ipads put infront of them most of their lives, they only know roblox and netflix trash. they can't read they can't write they can't sit and listen for more than 1 minute. I feel for every teacher out there in general but being a literature teacher right now must SUCK

If you miss David Lynch's presence on this earth as much as I do, go to Jennifer Lynch's tiktok.
She is his daughter (and author of Laura Palmer's diary) and ever since his passing last year, she's taken to posting little snippets from their life together. They used to call each other everyday and clearly had a wonderful relationship. She shares little candid moment. Like pictures of him in a photo booth she has on her fridge, a video of them smoking cigarettes right after he won his Oscar, opening christmas presents with his grandkids.
She is very open about her grief and invites others to share theirs and to talk about it. it's clear she wants to preserve his memory by sharing these moments with the world.
We are actually mutuals and she often leaves comments under my posts that are related to her dad's work.
She once left this comment under an edit I made and it literally made me cry because it felt like the biggest compliment I could have ever gotten, other than from David Lynch himself
there is some spiritual connection between Laura Palmer, Ophelia, and Padmé Amidala

Mionionese is so interesting to me because they do seem to pick up little bits of human language along the way, like Dick fully asked “Alles gut?” (All good? In German) “Wirklich?” (Really?)
you know what, the minions falling victim to hollywoods inevitable transition into talkies because they can’t speak any human language is something I never really considered, but it does make an interesting premise for a movie
Once you start viewing Ryan Gosling in The Notebook as a butch lesbian that's when you reach divine enlightenment and it becomes the greatest movie of all time. gimme that southern 1940s forbidden yuri
that fanfic from a fandom you’re not in WILL change your life
If I had a nickel for every time a movie from 2026 used the story of Hänsel and Gretel as an allegory for rape/csa, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice
