[text] Huh. I guess that makes sense. Do you just have flamingo facts stored in your brain? [text] Life Lessons from Jeremy. It sounds like the slogan in a PSA about texting. [text] I donāt know, something exciting. Maybe they were plotting a bank robbery and someone sold them out since old people are super gossipy. I donāt know. But that would be way more interesting. [text] ā¦I think that I like her and the derpiness is only helping.
[text]: No, Iām using a smart phone and I googled it. I was curious [text]: It could be a whole thing on youtube. Iāve been told I have a face for the camera. All sorts of important life lessons. [text]: I mean I donāt wanna assume anything, but these are elderly people. I would be surprised if they decided to go rob a bank. Though I guess they would be the last suspects. Hmm. [text]: You are such a cat lady. Cat Lady, table for one?Ā
louisianalostones:
Jasper snorted a laugh.Ā āWell, yeah. Probably both. But I didnāt encourage you to do every questionable thing. My only suggestion was to enjoy some junk food. I didnāt tell you to do heroin.ā He shrugged.Ā āI hate basically everyone, so youāll just be with the majority.ā
Nate rolled his eyes.Ā āYeah, yeah whatever. Heroin, no. Junk food, yes. Got it,ā Nate opened his notebook, jotting down a few notes.Ā āSo, when do you wanna do this?ā he asked. He snorted.Ā āUgh, thatās so mainstream,ā he commented, speaking in a mocking tone.Ā āWhatever man. If by some miracle you donāt hate me, weāll just call it a fluke.āĀ
strangeperfectionss:
āRight, sometimes I forgetĀ ācause usually most people want me there for the free weed, not my gorgeous face. And we are the best. No one even comes close to the two of us. I try, I try so hard. All I wanted was to make you proud,ā he joked, looking down to avoid breaking his straight face.Ā āHey, you didnāt offend me. I was just saying you gotta give these lady pirates some credit.ā He let out a booming laugh at her joke.Ā āI canāt believe you went there, but Iām so glad you did.ā
āNo worries. Youāre right though.Ā Iām just here for the face and the good times. Of course no one does. They donāt even know where to begin, letās be real here.ā Jordan laughed, patting his shoulder.Ā āYou donāt have to try so hard. You make me proud just by being you,ā she promised him. Which was true actually. She loved that Aspen decided to live to be happy.Ā āAll the credit to the lady pirates.ā Jordan grinned.Ā āThank you, thank you. Iāll be here all week,ā she said, curtsying teasingly.
strangeperfectionss:
Azalea just laughed at that, shaking her head a little. She pushed some hair out of her face, running her fingers through the strands. She returned his smile and nodded at his question.Ā āI get it. And I think you do make a really good impression. And you make people happy. I mean, Iāve been miserable for weeks and you got me to laugh, so youāre doing pretty damn good for yourself,ā she told him with a shrug. She just wanted him to know that he wasnāt wasting his efforts and that his work was paying off. He was doing what he wanted to do and she hoped he knew that. She chuckled.Ā āFood and good times are the only reasons anyone does anything. The whole world revolves around those two very things,ā she told him.Ā āExactly! No shady dealings allowed at our happy little occasion,ā she joked, unable to keep a straight face about the whole situation. It was just such a weird place for a conversation to go. Az gently patted Jerās hand when he put on her shoulder and gave him a small smile as her way of saying thanks. She appreciated the sentiment behind it and it did help a little, but really, this weird feeling wasnāt going to go away soon. She hated talking about this and the only reason she wasnāt stopping the conversation was the fact that she knew not talking about emotions only let them grow and get worse. Even if it was hard and even if it sucked, she had to talk about it or it was never, ever going to get fixed. She chuckled when Jer did a voice to imitate Nateās, feeling a little better. Honestly, what he said surprised her a little. She hadnāt realized the effect sheād had on Nate. She didnāt know what to say in response and she was more than a little relieved when Jer started talking again. This way she had some time to try and process all of this.Ā āNo, it made sense. It did. Itās just, I dunno, not what I was expecting. But it makes sense. It really does. And I appreciate you telling me all of it, it kind of helped piece together some stuff for me. So thank you for telling me. Ā And I will talk to him. Because I do miss him. A lot. Itās justā¦I guess I never really got his side of this whole thing so I never wanted to deal with. Seriously, I probably wouldnāt have ever really tried to fix this if you hadnāt have said something because I wouldnāt have known where to start. You just saved the day, Jer. You really did,ā she said, gently resting her hand on his arm with a small smile. She frowned, thinking about what happened when she came in.Ā āNate didnāt, like, sneak out the back or anything when he saw me, did he?ā she asked, trying to look around the party for him.Ā
Jeremy couldnāt help but grin even wider at that. Sure, he was happy that he was making her laugh, but he was happier that she was laughing at all. All he wanted was to help Az feel better and he mentally patted himself on the back for achieving that goal.Ā āIām really glad to hear that, Az. You should be laughing. Life is too short not to have a little fun every now and again,ā he said with a shrug. He laughed a little.Ā āI mean, there may be a few more reasons why people do things, but ultimately, food and good times.ā Jeremy smirked, shaking his head.Ā āHow did we get here?ā he asked, loving that it had spiraled into something just silly and fun. They both probably needed a little of that in their lives. Jeremy returned her smile. He wished he understood her the way Nate did. Jer just wanted to be there for her and be a good friend, but he knew that this was the best he could do. Whatever it was that she needed to work out, she needed to do on her own and he could only be the supportive friend. Jer nodded along as she spoke, giving her the chance to get it all out.Ā āOf course, Az. Anytime. And Iād hate to see both of you upset when thereās a chance you can be happy, you know?ā He shrugged, offering a kind smile.Ā āBesides, Iām getting fit for my cape next week and I really wanted to put my superpowers to the test. What better way than helping some friends?ā he asked her, making light of it. Heād never been good at accepting this kind of praise. Jeremy frowned, looking around.Ā āNo, I donāt think so. Not without telling me at least,ā he said, reaching into his pocket to grab his phone and check. Just to be sure.Ā āNope, no messages. Heās definitely still here. I know he was headed to the kitchen and he might still be hiding there if you wanna look for him? I could even help you find him.ā Jer said, shrugging.Ā āOr if you wanna avoid him a little longer, I can help with that too. Whichever youāre ready for, really,ā he said.Ā ā
strastrangeperfectionss:
āJust my face? Not my good stash or anything like that? And of course weāll have fun. Weāre us, when do we not have fun? Iāll save you from the killer heels, promise. Then youāre welcome for noticing, I guess? No, you wouldnāt be my wench! What is that? Fuck that. Iām offended by the notion. Youād be my lady co-captain who just happens to want to show off her legs. Because really, whoās gonna step to a lady about being immodest when she could kill you?āĀ
āNope, just your face. You can bring your stash if you want, but I wonāt be partaking. Youāre right, we always have fun. Itās why weāre the best. And thank you so much. Youāre my hero, Asp.ā Jordan let out a laugh, grinning up at him.Ā āIām so sorry to have offended you with my rude terminology. I accept the role as kickass co-captain of the awesome ship. Weāre gonna be the hottest pirates there. Like dead ass. People are gonna want the booty.ā

[text] Okay but what region do flamingos even live in?? I have no idea where theyāre native to. Florida??? [text] You know, it didnāt sound that creepy to me until you sent that message and then I reread it and yeah, it was a little creepy. [text] Nursing home scandals sounded exciting but then it was just āold people doing itā and now Iām both disappointed and grossed out. [text] Sheās derpy but I think I like it.
[text]: Theyāre actually from all over so long as itās tropical. Fun fact of the day. [text]: Always think before you text. Donāt be like me. [text]: What did you think it would be? Cheating at shuffle board and chess? [text]: You think you like that sheās derpy or you think you like her?? Very important distinctionĀ
louisianalostones:
āBetter the processed shit than no food at all. Isnāt college when youāre supposed to eat crap and just enjoy it?ā He rolled his eyes. āDonāt get too crazy there now. Friends is a little strong. More like maybe I wonāt hate you afterwards.ā
Now it was Nateās turn to roll his eyes.Ā āPlease. If I did ever questionable thing youāre supposed to do in college Iād probably be addicted to heroin or flunking a class by now. Fuck that, man.ā Nate snorted, almost smiling.Ā āYouāre probably going to hate me,ā he warned.Ā
strangeperfectionss:
āIām always down to party, you should know this by now. And I think 9 should be perfect. We can even pregame a little if you want if we meet up then. Of course, I noticed. I have eyes, donāt I? Iām going as a pirate. I got one of those deluxe costumes. You know, you could be sexy pirate lady. We could go get your a costume right now.ā
āFuck yes. Iāll bring the good booze and you bring your face. Weāll have fun with it. Then we can walk over together and you can make sure I donāt kill myself in my heels. Perfect. Well sometimes people donāt notice. Itās nice to be noticed! So, what, Iād be your wench or something? Do you just want to see me dressed up like that?ā
strangeperfectionss:
Azalea laughed at his joke.Ā āWhat can I say? Iām nothing if not humble,ā she played along, giving him her best innocent smile. It was nice to just joke around with someone, anyone really. Everyone seemed to be walking on eggshells around her, it was a breath of fresh air to get treated like a normal human being.Ā āThatās awesome! Iām sure theyāll write you a really great letter. I mean, how could they have anything bad to say about you?ā she asked. Jer was a great guy. He was funny and nice and just seemed so genuine. She didnāt know him all that well, but sheād always liked him. He was just one of those people who made a great impression right away. She snorted a little at that.Ā āYes! Everyone could make something and pass it, make sure everyone takes a little of everything to keep it truly neutral. Wouldnāt want to turn into a hostile country potluck,ā she teased. Azalea tossed her phone back and forth between her hands once more. It was just such an awkward situation, there was no way around it. She felt bad pouring it all out like that on Jer, she was sure it put him in a sort of weird spot, but heād offered to listen and she had to get it out. She watched Jerās reaction to the news, a bit surprised by it all. Had Nate not told Jer what had gone down? She hadnāt meant to spill the beans or turn it into some big thing, sheād assumed heād have known. She listened as he told her what he thought about the whole situation, fidgeting the whole time to try and keep her emotions in check. She was torn about the whole thing. On the one hand, her feelings for Nate hadnāt gone anywhere, even after all that had happened. But on the other hand, something about forgiving him after that made her feel like she was being unfair to herself. Jerās last comment made her feel a little better about the whole thing. Whatever she chose was okay at the end of the day because it would be whatever she felt was right. āItās the real deal with me?ā she asked, looking up at Jer.Ā āāCause I have to say, a part of me has been hoping things would change too,ā she admitted. No matter how fucked up things had gotten, Nate was the one person who understand better than she did herself. She really missed him and it really sucked to not have him around. She knew things were weird and messy but if Jer was right about her being the real deal and all that, maybe it was worth it to try and fix things. Especially since she was pretty sure he was the real deal for her.
āYouāre as humble as it gets.ā Jer replied with a straight face, pleased that they could joke and laugh. He could only imagine how difficult this time had been for her so he was relieved to see she was still funny as all hell and sharp as a tact. He smiled at her. āThanks, Az. I always hope Iām making a good impression on people. Just wanna make people happy, yāknow?ā He sent her a wide smile. Sure, that was probably really, insanely, obnoxiously obvious about him, but making people happy and helping people was all he ever wanted to do. He chuckled. āAnd there would be insanely good food too. Seriously, Iām just in it for the food and the good times. Nothing more and nothing less.ā Jer snorted.Ā āYeah, no one can go and invite Italy behind our backs to make it all awkward and weird. That would suck.ā Jer snorted, amused with where their conversation had gone. Jeremy felt bad that he seemed to be putting her on edge. That was really the last thing he had wanted to do. His whole goal was to come here and make sure she was okay, not make things worse for her. He also seriously wanted to kick Nateās ass. He loved that dude like a brother, but fuck, he needed to learn how to talk to a girl and tell her how he felt. Jer was sensing a pattern here. What the fuck had Nate been thinking? If he even had been thinking that is. Jer reached out and put a comforting hand on Azās shoulder, but only for a moment, not wanting to make an already tense situation worse. He just wanted to show that he was there for her. Jer offered a small smile.Ā āIāve known that asshole for most of my life. Iāve seen him at his worst and at his best, in love and out of it. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, compares to what heās like with you. What he feels for you is so different than anything heās felt for anyone else. I think I kinda knew it when he called me up and saidĀ āhey, so I met this really cool girl. Her name is Az and you gotta meet her, Jerā,ā Jeremy said, deepening his voice to imitate Nateās. He shrugged.Ā āOnly Nate can really say how he feels, but I know that whatever it is is a huge deal for him. You threw him off center in the best way possible. You made him a better man, just by being his friend.ā He grinned widely again.Ā āNo matter what happens, thanks for that, Az. Iām really, really glad to have you in my life. You make it better.ā He shrugged once more, feeling lighter now that he had talked to her.Ā āI donāt know if any of what I just said made sense. Iām not exactly a wordsmith or anything, but I hope youāll talk to him when youāre ready. If you miss him, thatās a good sign right?ā
i am very good at what i do. Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā i am better at it than anyone else. Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā thatās not arrogance, thatās fact.

āDo you even need to ask? Of course Iām in. Weāre dressing up right? Please say yes because Iāve already got a costume and Iām sure youāll look killer in whatever slutted up thing youāre dressing up as. Unless you donāt do that. Which is cool. Disappointing because youāve got great legs, but totally something I respect.ā
āYes! I knew youād be down to go. Party starts at 10 so I thought we could meet up around 9? Or is that too early? And thank you for noticing! Donāt skip leg day, right? Iām trying to think of a sexy costume that isnāt a total cliche but Iāll probably just go with something lame. What are you going as?ā
āSo you know that Halloween party at the haunted house over on James? Well, I may or may not have gotten some tickets and I want you to go with me. You in or what?ā
