This was one of the first things I've written, and looking back on this, I kind of hate it. I don't really like a lot of the writing decisions I've made. A lot of it was ooc, even for an au, and a good amount of moments didn't feel too put together. However, I would be wrong if I said this fic had no value. It personally kickstarted my writing journey!

I do want to mention that I do and don't plan on finishing it. While the work is discontinued, I am working on something called "Re-Spored" which will basically involve rewrites of my old fics (like this, for example)

Fractured Bell

The Respored (aka rewrite) version of "Everything's Not Okay - Broken Royalty Part One". For context, scroll up until you see "Everything's (Not) Okay"

I'll just say it up front, nothing about the story I had in mind for the original version of the fic justifies it even being more than one chapter, let alone 20 and a multi part thing. Barely anything about "Everything's (Not) Okay" made sense in my eyes, looking back at it. The original plot was faulty, everyone was ooc even for an au excluding maybe Rick, and if I ramble even more about how much I don't like one of my old fics I'll be on my death bed. Ironically, I'm still fond of it, but more In a "Aww, well aren't you an adorable piece of garbage" way.

So involving this rewrite to keep things short, will be only one chapter. The chapter will most likely be a long one-shot(possibly up to 20k words. At the bare minimum, it'll be around 7,500 words), but still a one-shot

Tldr: I'm turning Brokeon Royalty into a One-shot and naming it "Fractured Bell"

The respored (rewrite) of "Amphibia Erased Neo"

I kind of like the original version better than Broken Royalty, but it still had its problems. The chapters weren't really too unique, and while the frogs(like Sprig, Polly, etc) were in character, the human characters(Molly, Phoenica, Trixie) weren't.

The rewrite is meant to be a complete overhaul of the original fic, where it changes nearly everything from the original.

The Fleecities are one of the most powerful families in Sweet Jazz City and Taiga. It’s near impossible to go anywhere without seeing at least a billboard or some form of their influence. Nothing happens in Taiga or Sweet Jazz City without their knowledge and influence. They’re known for saving the world from the Songstress and their altruism around the world. Nearly everyone looks up to them, but be careful: the brightest lights make the darkest of shadows.

When the Fleecities sealed the Songstress for the first time, they had sealed her form beneath the earth. Despite this, her power still leaks out from the earth, where any sound near the area she was sealed at is replaced with white noise. This energy is referred to as "Swan Song" and moves to where life blooms. It waits. It waits and waits and waits and waits...

Until It Happens.

Every so often it latches onto someone; someone who's being consumed by their despair, when they're on the brink of death, it strikes. It rings its indescribable tune into the person's ear. To the victim, it's as if a beautiful sound entrances them, beckoning them to the sirens call:

The call to refuse death

If the victim succumbs to the song,they will start rapidly mutating into a monstrosity most often referred to as a "Witch". Their behavior is mostly erratic and simply their broken mind trying in vain to put the pieces back together, but they all share a goal: To spread the influence of the Swan Song. They violently attack anything breathing near them. Anyone killed by these things are likely to become a Witch themselves. Witches are immensely powerful, and it is advised to flee and report the siting to a Fleecity.

The Fleecities are mainly marked by titles (Fleecity the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.). A Fleecity must start training from the age of 5 at the latest. They are taught that their lives are expendable as their main purpose is to expel any traces of the Songstress' power that seaps out. In exchange for fighting witches, the Fleecities are rewarded with a large sum of money.

The Fleecities fight this the same way they fought the Songstress, with Magic.

The lineage inherits a kind of magic unique to them alone. Through the power of this gift, they gain the gift to transform into magical forms that allow them to use powerful magic unique to them. They can also temporarily grant powerful magic to others they consider worthy allies. Every Fleecity is born with a mark representing a Bell with Ram horns on their backs, whenever their powers are in use, the mark glows.

All except for one

Phoenica Fleecity the XVth is the only Phoenica to not be born with a magical gift. Nobody knows why or how, but Phoenica doesn't have a drop of Fleecity magic (or magic in general) in her blood. No Fleecity can bestow a magical girl transformation onto her either. If anything, her entire existence rejects magic. In all of their history, this has never happened to a single Fleecity before.

She has been wordlessly assigned as the "Black Sheep" of the family. She is forced to start her training at the same age, but her training is much more grueling and tough to make up for her lack of magical abilities. This also comes at the worst time to the Fleecities given it's approaching the time...

The time where the Songstress comes back

Every 86~ years, the Songstress arrival approaches. She choses a harbinger as her vessel and prepares them for her arrival. There are some signs such as them being able to see and touch spirits. Upon discovery of a harbinger, they must be killed immediately.

Phoenica is much more closed off than canon. She found out quickly that most people see her as a walking symbol rather than a person. A lot of the kids at her school only see her as a tool at best, and a trophy or challenge at worst. She's open with her two friends, but not with anyone else. She often likes to be useful to her friends, but because of her role in her family, she projects that onto her friends and doesn't like it when her friends asks for others help without asking her first. While she doesn't mean any ill will, she subconsciously puts Molly and Trixie in situations where they need her help.

Only two people call Phoenica "Feenie": Molly and Trixie. She doesn't actively hide it, but her family refuses to call her that and only addresses her as "the 15th"

What is the Absolute universe?

To give a brief summary, it’s a universe merged with the essence of darkseid. As such, the world runs on and rewards evil and power. Might makes right and the world rewards you for approching it that way. Hope has to shine as bright as the sun just to avoid getting snuffed out. The characters loses a key element of their character while still keeping the essential core of who they are (Bruce loses his wealth & resources, Superman grows up on Krypton, Diana is raised in tartarus by Circe, etc).

Ironically enough, the main appeal about the absolute universe to me is how surprisingly hopeful it is. It gets pretty dark at times, but it isn't just edgy just for the sake of being edgy. It covers themes like Systematic violence, racism, Police Brutality and the violence of the state, etc. It doesn't hold any punches in the themes they want to cover, but they put a lot of care into developing them

To keep it short, it stands out as hopeful to me because of the choices characters make in a seemingly hopeless setting. It's easy to do good when there isn't any consequences or large risks, and even easier when rewarded. When the world actively rewards your cruelty and bends it to be the natural order, and you still choose to be good even when the world and universe itself will punish you for it, it stands out a lot and gives weight to who the characters are.

It's the main characters looking at evil in It's purest form, and standing their ground that makes it feel so hopeful to me

I'm not going to go into every idea I have mainly because we'll be here too long. Plus, a lot of them aren't really connected that well. This was a spure-of-the-moment idea I just got. Most (if not all) of it could most likely use some more polishing

I'll just go into what I consider the main essentials and keep it brief (or I'll try to at least) since it's the first post. This post is already long enough, so I'll just cover Sweet Jazz City and the Blyndeffs for right now.

Sweet Jazz City & Taiga

Corruption seeks into every crack of the city. The world isn't fair, and it doesn't care enough to play pretend with cardboard. There’s an oppressive cold air that envelopes Taiga. The power is in the hands of the wealthy and elite in all forms.

Epithets have much more regulation in this universe. Anyone Inscribed cannot use their epithet in public and must keep it either inside their home abiding by a curfew, or in specific areas that allow for limited epithet use. The Inscribed would need to obtain a license to use their epithet more freely. Those that work for the state (cops, soldiers, etc) do not need this license. Upon discovery of an Epithet, the person (or their parents if they find their epithet before the age of 18) must sign paperwork registering that they’re Inscribed. Breaking these laws can range from a fine to their epithet being completely erased. Those that do have their epithets erased doesn't remember the process of how they loss their epithet. Their memory is foggy as if their mind is trying to fill in imaginary pieces to a puzzle while missing half of the pieces.

Absolute Molly & Lorelai

Instead of Calliope being the one to die in the fire, Martin is.

This also happens a couple years earlier than Canon (Molly when she's 8 and Lorelai when she's 13 respectively). Calliope has burn scars from the fire. While Martin was neglectful in the original series, Calliope is the exact opposite. Her presence feels oppressive and suffocating. She is more noticeably strict with Lorelai than Molly, but they're both effected by it regardless. If Martin treated his kids as toys that could be discarded and left on the shelf to wither, than Calliope treats them as pristine toys. She takes care of them, but only to keep them on her shelf. They have little to no autonomy in their own lives.

Molly is more rude and standoffish. She'll be nice to end a conflict faster like in canon, but outside of that, she'd rather press mute on any conversation or interaction she doesn’t want to be a part of (literally). She's still friends with Phoenica and Trixie, but the trio have a heavily codependent friendship with each other. Because of Molly's lack of autonomy and voice in her home, she projects those feelings onto her 2 friends and can often be very controlling of their lives. She genuinely loves and cares for them, but she doesn’t know how to show it that isn’t by being controlling and somewhat possessive of them. Her friends are her only escape from her environment.

Molly is slightly stronger than canon, but by only 1-2 stars

Lorelai doesn't have the luxury of using dream bubbles as an escape anymore. Calliope projects most of her goals and expectations onto Lorelai. As such, Lorelai is often the face of the store, and as such faces a large brunch of responsibility. Her and Molly grew distant as time passed. After Martin's death, Calliope had devoted all of her time into the store and more to cover their expenses and the medical bills Martin's death left them. As a result, Lorelai had to start looking after Molly more, leading to her having some bottled up resentment she has yet to addressed.

She’s still orbit, but she’s significantly weaker than canon. Her epithet focuses more on modifying and amplifying pre-existing things than creating something new.
