"If you think that my sisters are a tender sort than you're in for a rude awakening. They are my sisters, you know." When Ai had called herself the sweet one she hadn't totally been lying. She was known as the funny loving one of the sisters. "But if love is what you're after I'd advise you to be cautious. You're in the palace of serpents and serpents are dripping with venom."
The music that play at this moment is classical. Fitting for the ballroom that the Akemis hosted their guests in. She continues to clutch onto the hand she'd guided him to the dance floor with. Jutting it to their side, she then brought her other hand to his shoulder. The proper positioning for a waltz.
"I barely stomped ya. You can still dance just fine. Waltzing ain't anything too complex! Ah, but I'd watch the tail if I were you."
At this time the dance floor wasn't crowded but there were enough other waltzers to make tripping someone up with his tail a real danger. Fitting with the holiday, there was a variance of costumes among dancers. Obscuring features and make it difficult to tell if any other members of the clan were around.
"You know, as spring turns to summer we also do a masquerade ball. That's quite interesting. There's so much mystique to dancing without quite knowing who your partner is. There's something fun about mysteries in general, wouldn't you say? Actually, you're quite the mystery yourself. Even now I'm not quite sure where you're from."
Neka generally didn't care about music one way or the other, but mortals seemed rather susceptible to its sway, so he'd play along. Serpents? It would take more than some fangs or honeyed words to slip some venom into him, but Neka was hardly fool enough to completely let down his guard out of some misplaced sense of arrogant superiority.
He would follow her lead, as his knowledge of human dances was a bit lacking. It wasn't difficult to match her, but he wouldn't try to influence her own dancing. After all, by this point it felt more like an excuse to continue their conversation than an actual courtship ritual. And while it would be easy for him to curl his tail up so it wouldn't get stepped on, but doing so would prove its mobility to Ai and would thus make her even more suspicious about him.
"Perhaps so, but why would I spoil the ending to a good book before you've had a chance to read even past the first chapter~?" Neka asked cryptically, more to deliberately be mysterious for the sake of it than any real reason. He could come up with any number of lies that would answer her question yet hardly satisfy any justifiable reason for the mystique. "I hardly know anything about your family, either. Unless you wanted to spill the beans about your sisters~" Now, that one was more to tease Ai than actually expecting a response.
