Me: well, what is that thing that says m-e-n-u on it?

*sigh*... I’ve been waiting for years for @nikonusa to release the follow up to the D300 that I’ve been using since 2007. Finally, the release the D500, and the reviews have been amazing. Availability has been scarce, but I was finally able to pick one up yesterday! 

One thing I’d been looking forward to using is the network connectivity to get images off of the camera directly to my iPhone. This is great to get a shot quickly up to social media for sharing.

Well... turns out that SnapBridge, the feature that provides this functionality, currently only works on Android. Official statement is that iOS support to be available “later this summer”. Which to me, could mean September... or 4 months from now.

Get this: to enable the built-in Wi-Fi network on camera, you need to connect via SnapBridge. There is no manual way to turn on the built-in Wi-Fi through the menu system. So, all of us Apple iOS users out here need to wait who knows how long. Nikon won’t give me an ETA.

Me: Hmmm... I dunno, why?

Brody: Because his friends tried crossing and got hit by a car and died. Then the chicken had to eat them.

Me: He chews on rawhide stuff that cleans his teeth.

Brody: Why can't I just chew on rawhide?

Me: Me too!

Brody: Then, when I'm grown up, I won't get stuck in traffic.

Me: Yeah, that would be awesome.
