When Missy moves in across the hallway with her two-year old daughter Emily, into what is definitely NOT the best neighbourhood, perhaps Wade Wilson can be there for them to brighten their world, and keep an eye out for them when they need it most.

What if Professor Negan, ex-Slytherin, ex-pro Quidditch beater, started at Hogwarts as the new Defence Against the Dark Arts and Quidditch coach. And what if the one person that caught his eye was lovely, kind Madam Blake, ex-Hufflepuff and Hogwarts nurse. Harry Potter/Walking Dead crossover.

Chapter 1 - September

Negan was a Slytherin through and through.

From the first moment the Sorting Hat had touched his head he had known what he had wanted, and that was everything that Slytherin had to offer. People from there were cunning and powerful, and knew what they need to do to get what they wanted. And although some had called that type of play ruthless, Negan had called it winning.

And Negan had carried that same aspiration with him throughout his long years.

He had been head of the Slytherin Quidditch team. One of the best beaters Hogwarts had even seen, and soon after leaving school had quickly been headhunted by some of the best teams in the United States.

There he had found fame, women, and money. But that Slytherin badge had never left him, and not-happy with just working hard to make his way to the top, Negan had made bad choices, fallen in with the wrong crowd. And it was because of these damn stupid decisions that Negan found himself at the bottom, washed out and penniless, his good name tarnished.

But his life experience was what Dumbledore had known would make him a good fit among the teachers here. Negan was not by any means stupid and was a damn good wizard, and hopefully this was his chance for a fresh start.

When Blake finds herself sold out to the Saviours by her abusive fiancé, she realises that she’s certainly not on her own anymore and finds an unlikely friend in Negan. And Negan does NOT like men who beat their girlfriends, one tiny bit…

Chapter 212 - Promise Me

[Negan returns from the icy cold to find Blake and Mia nowhere to be seen.]

After making it back inside, it took Negan a good ten minutes before he regained any feeling in his toes.

Upon bursting back through the Sanctuary doors, generator part clutched tightly within his hands like a newborn child, Negan had gone straight to the camp beds where Eugene and some of his other Lieutenants were sleeping and hastily woken them.

“This the shit we need?” Is all Negan had uttered to the mullet-wearing man.

And it had taken Eugene a good couple of seconds, looking mightily dazed, before he had blinked and nodded.

“Yes. Yes I think it is,” is all he had replied with, as Negan had stood up straight and given a hard sniff.

“Well then get the fuck to fixin’ it then.”

And that had been that. The tall leader of the Saviours turning on his heel and marching his stiff bones back to his and Blake’s relocated room on the ground floor.

He ached, wholly, inside and out knowing how stupid he’d been going out there alone.

It was a hard thing to swallow, to admit that he wasn’t the man he had been years ago. He wasn’t as young as his mind told him he still was. And putting himself at risk like that had been a foolhardy task.

And he knew just what Blake would say once he went in that room and saw her again. He had walked out on her when she had begged him not to. So he knew what her reaction would likely be now, despite his good intentions and the generator part he had succeeded in finding.

And so with hunched shoulders almost bracing himself for the verbal ambush that awaited him. The tall man turned the handle and shoved open the door.

But he stopped short, seeing suddenly that the room was empty of either Blake or Beansprout. 

Multiple blankets in which the tiny girl had been bundled in were now lying tangled upon the mattress on the floor.

The room was tiny with nowhere else they could be hiding.

Negan gave a frown, turning his head back toward the hallway. That too was empty, filled only now with the sounds of distant footsteps and the mutterings of Eugene putting the lieutenants to work.

A wave of panicked nausea began to rise up within his throat but Negan swallowed it away, willing himself to stay calm.

Where the fuck were they though? Had something happened?

Shit. Calm the fuck down, asshole.

This wasn’t like him. Negan was usually cool in any crisis.

He presumed he was probably a little delirious from exposure to the elements outside.

But really he knew why he was so worried.

Shit, he loved those gals. And the idea that anything would have happened to them…

Still wearing his thick coat thrown over his leather jacket, Negan swiftly turned on his heel, stalking down the long dark corridor.

But he hadn’t had to go far when, just ahead of him, appearing in the doorway to the ladies bathrooms was a tired and fretful-looking Blake with Mia balanced carefully on her hip, looking drowsy and glum.

As though he had been holding it in for years, Negan let a harsh puff of air escape from his lips, as relief flooded every inch of his body.

He offered Blake a shake of his head and began to open his mouth to tell her that he had done it, that he had found the missing generator part. But before he could do so, Blake gave him a hard frown, striding purposefully towards him.

“Asshole. You total asshole. You really went out there? After I begged you not to?”

Her long legs closed the gap between them in less than two seconds. And Negan braced himself, waiting for the slap he knew he deserved for what he had done.

But to his utter shock the blonde woman pressed her lips firmly to his, tangling her free arm around his neck, pulling his face down to hers.

Negan fell into the kiss instantly, the heat of it warming every inch of his icy cold body.

After a few long seconds and a couple of impatient and irritable grumbles from Mia, Blake pulled away, that frown still lingering between her brows.

She swatted at Negan’s arm.

“I swear to god, you ever do that again-….fuck, you’re freezing, you know that?”

Negan gave another deep sigh. 

“I think my cold-ass balls might never recover,” he said with a hint of a smirk behind his eyes, as he glanced at Mia now, brushing back hair from her pale cheeks. “But I found the missing generator part. No meds. But some heat might make all this a little easier. Might let Beansprout recover jus’ that little bit faster.”

Blake chewed on her lip, her eyes moving first to Mia, then back up to Negan.

“Negan…” she started with a sudden sad look in her eyes. “…I’m begging you. I’m honestly begging you. Don’t…just…please don’t leave us again. If anything has happened to you-“

“But it didn’, Peaches-“ Negan cut across her, his rough hand moving to her cool cheek. But Blake didn’t let him finish. Her eyes pleading now.

“Just promise me, Negan. I-I can’t lose you. Not now…” she said with a shake of her head, her hand moving to her slightly rounded stomach. “I can’t do this alone.”

Negan blinked, a frown-line twitching itself between his brows before he reached out his long arm. Pulling Blake and Mia into a tight embrace.

He pressed a firm kiss into the blonde’s hair.

“And you won’t,” Negan said in a low and growling voice. “I promise you, Peaches. You won’t…”

SORRY DADDY?!??!?

Negan meets Blake and her two year old daughter Mia who live just across the hallway. But what happens when Blake gets evicted and has no where else to go?

CHAPTER 3

Negan had had a long fucking day.

After his late start this morning, as predicted, Principle Groves had been waiting in the staff parking lot for him, arms folded, tapping her foot against the asphalt.

Although Negan had tried to feed her some bullshit excuse about traffic, she had obviously seen right through him, patronising him all the way to the gymnasium about setting a good example to the kids.

Shit. Negan knew half the little shits that he taught were already smoking behind the bleachers at lunch, and graffitiing the bathrooms whatever chance they got,.,. So he very much doubted him being twenty minutes late was going to make much difference to their futures.

And so feeling pissed off all day, Negan had been glad to get home, back to his tiny apartment in the shitty part of town.

He had already finished off his pathetic bland microwave dinner, while the tv buzzed in the background with some mind-numbing show to fill the quiet.

Life had certainly changed for him since Lucille’s passing. But Negan knew that give it a month or so, and he’d have enough saved for a downpayment on that house on the good side of town, with flower baskets hanging on the porch and the white picket fence. Sometimes he took a drive over there just to see it. Knowing that his wife would have loved a place like that.

Giving a sigh and running a hand down his tired face, Negan got to his feet with a stiff groan, pacing around the couch toward the fridge to go grab himself a beer.

But before he could reach his tiny kitchenette, Negan stopped, hearing a sudden soft knocking from his front door.

He bristled.

Negan never got visitors that didn’t text first, especially at this time of the evening. And he knew how bad this neighbourhood could be, with low-lifes and drug dealers hanging out on every corner.

But even so, Negan, clenching his jaw, made for the door.

Whoever it was, he could handle himself.

But giving the front door a sharp tug open, bracing hismelf for some fucking thug on the otherside, Negan faltered, seeing someone on the other side he hadn’t expected at all…

For there stood the woman from the apartment opposite his. Blake. Holding a sobbing Mia in her arms.

CHAPTER 2

Negan was almost always on time.

Ever since he had gotten himself back on his feet since the death of Lucille, he had kept to a strict morning routine. Late wasn’t even in his vocabulary these days.

Negan always liked to keep this cool and collected aura about him. Something that he couldn’t pull off if he was stressed and rushing.

But today, well, today was an exception.

Negan cursed himself as he slid a long sleeved grey T-shirt over his tanned shoulders. Piece of toast hanging out of his mouth.

For the first time in forever, his alarm hadnt gone off.

And Negan knew that if he missed first period the Principle wasn’t going to be too happy

After his breakdown after Lucille’s death, a couple of Negan’s closest teacher buddies had pretty much had to beg Principle Groves to give him a second chance.

She had given him his job back of course, but since then Negan had always felt like the the older woman was keeping a close eye, watching for any slip ups.

“Shit, shit, shit,” came Negan’s muffled voice through his piece of toast as he shoved his feet into a pair of sneakers, hopping on one foot as he did so, and almost toppling to the ground at least twice.

Snatching his keys and his zipped black jacket from the dresser, Negan hauled open his front door and stepped out into his tiny shared hallway.

But he stopped short at the sight of the blonde woman and the small girl from yesterday, standing just outside the door to their apartment opposite his.

They both peered around at him, and Negan instantly tugged the price of toast from his mouth in embarrassment.

Chapter 1

With a stiff back and aching neck, Negan climbed the staircase that led up to his sixth floor apartment, giving a small groan of pain as he did so.

He’s already had a pretty rough day to say the least. The middle school kids he’d been teaching for fourth period had been nothing but little shits for the entirety of the class, and on top of that he’d had to complete the yearly stock check of the gym equipment , only to hurt his back lifting a pair of heavy shot-puts right before the school bell had rang out, tolling the end of the working day.

So now, all Negan wanted to do was grab a beer, put his feet up and watch whatever crap he could find on tv before passing out and most likely doing it all again tomorrow.
