and oh my god why am i just NOW noticing the significance of that???? he never would've gotten that photo back. he never got his family back. it's kind of john's way of doing what he did with amanda to lawrence - "these marks are from another life, we'll leave that life behind" but instead of marks it's his family am i crazy. am i crazy.

in my head this is further proof that lawrence was always going to be an apprentice but that might just be me loving apprenice lawrence a normal amount
