                                             mandy + tattoos || pt. 1 of ?

       mandy left the southside in a rush, without so much as a backwards glance. but, as time passed, she found herself missing the people she’d left behind. even the ones who were bad for her. she found herself drawn by the temptation to return, but she knew that was impossible && a terrible idea. there was only one person she would return for, should he beckon. ian. with her new salary from the agency, mandy had some money to spend && she found herself drawn to the artwork of tattoos. slowly, but surely, she began to gather a small collection of tattoos: each standing for a person, or a chapter in her life, that she wanted to remember. the first three she got were representations of the key three people who shaped her life: ian, mickey, && lip.

sun && moon [ ian ]: he was the first person to see the light in her, despite the darkness she was surrounded by… or maybe he was just the first person she let see that light. either way, ian was special. he always would be. he was also the only person she would come running to- day or night. && yes, he had an undeniably complicated illness that had crept into his life to fuck shit up. he could switch moods as easily as the sun && moon changed places, but he was still ian. the two parts made a whole. she would always see him as just ian, her best friend. 

middle fingers up [ mickey ]: ah, mickey. family is everything after all. with the exception of almost every other fuckin’ milkovich. he was the only one who stood up for her, but respected her decisions at the same time. she could be real with him, try && knock sense into him, plus- it was his unapologetic ability to be himself that she really looked up to. but if he ever asks, the tattoo is just a ‘fuck you’ not a representation of how mickey taught her to say ‘fuck what the world thinks about you’.
