Day 125 without Clarke “Still want to tell her that I love her.”

Or why the finale might not have sucked, Karmy might not actually be doomed, Amy might not be pathetic and Karma might, just might, not be a bitch - no pun intended - and a heartbreaker. *shocked gasp from half of the Faking It fandom* Say whut, sis? Are you out of your deluded shipper mind?

Before the trolling starts - again - I’d just like to get a few things out of the way. I know many of you didn’t like the Faking It 2b finale and while I can respect that viewpoint, I can’t understand how some of you are already willing to jump to conclusions and fill my inbox with hate and disappointment dismiss virtually everything that happened the entire season, while resorting to the usual - “3 rejections, Karma will never love Amy like that, Karma is an evil, heartless, hetero biatch, Karmy will never happen, Amy should stop begging like wtf Karma is str8 move on blondie ur so pathetic u can’t force love lololol .” and so on.

You are free to love or hate the finale but bashing it or the characters themselves without any argument whatsoever is on a whole new level. I personally thought the finale was really good and actually needed - that’s how you do a cliffhanger, Mr. Covington, unlike that season 1 shock value mess, kudos for the improvement. I’ve been asked by some lovely anons/users to talk about the Karmy pairing development in 2b, Karma’s feelings for Amy, as well as the season finale, and I decided to put it all into one post that’s longer than the freaking Amazon, actually.

Why? Because I feel that almost everyone in the fandom is so focused on the outcome - the final scene - that they forget a large part of the context. So, can we please not ignore everything that led to it? The bigger picture matters, and here’s why:

1) When Karma comforts Amy after her break-up with Reagan in 2x13, she says this:

The official script for that scene has been released and it’s confirmed foreshadowing for something else entirely. Karmy ofc. 

The script reads -“Who are they talking about? Karma’s not quite sure.”

2) When Karma wakes up next to Amy in 2x14, she freaks out because of the intimate position they find themselves in. Remember in 1x02 when Karma and Amy are cuddling in a pretty similar way and Karma is not affected in the slightest?

These girls have known each other for 10 years, had a million sleepovers and I doubt they never cuddled in their sleep like that. Why would her attitude suddenly change, even more so when she believes Amy is “supposedly” over her and there shouldn’t be any weirdness between them?

Not to mention how everything about that scene points to Karma having another one of those dreams. Platonic and PG13 of course. Because Karma Ashcroft is a raging heterosexual. Not.

3) Farrah and Hank’s relationship meant as a parallel to Karmy’s relationship. We have Farrah telling Amy:

“I know how complicated things can be with a first love. I didn’t want you holding on to hope like I did with your father.”  And in that same scene, she goes:

“Maybe people can change” - and then the camera points at Karma to make it even more obvious - that where Farrah and Hank supposedly failed, Karma and Amy could/might make it work. Meaning that Amy might someday get her first love. I think these lines were intended to be interpreted as more than just Farrah giving love advice. 

This is also very interesting:

It all seems to be hinting at future foreshadowing to me. I don’t think they’d waste all this time with parallels in an already limited time frame for nothing.

4) Karma defending bisexuality all season. Because bisexuals have to stick together, y’know.

The last time I talked about Karma heterosexuality Ashcroft (it’s her middle name, I asked Carter myself), you guys overwhelmed me with your positive responses (over 1k notes - holy pancakes, Tumblr, I am genuinely humbled by your appreciation for my mindless rambling, praise the interwebz, thank you, amen). I am personally glad we’re all in agreement that Karma Ashcroft doesn’t need a dossier on heterosexuality at all. And to prove that point, she even fell in a pool and caught the straights last night - again. It’s not like this has been happening since the threesome or anything whut.

So, can we talk about Karma graciously kissing the hell out of poor, unsuspecting Amy in that pool, fandom? That was clearly just a friendly peck and not a don’t-you-dare-move-blondie-I-have-to-get-this-out-of-my-system-because-I’ve-been-holding-it-in-for-God-only-knows-how-long-and-I-can-only-let-my-guard-down-if-I’m-shitface-drunk-and-at-a-peak-of-emotional-vulnerability kiss from Karma, amirite? It’s obvious that it wouldn’t have lasted even longer if the lights hadn’t come out. I mean, come on, look at that. It’s not like even Amy had to take a step back to compose herself because of that sudden wave of heterosexuality hitting her straight in the face unannounced - no pun intended. No way. What we see here is a lovely display of platonic affection between two gal pals and I double dare you to argue with me.

I think we can all agree that Karma’s platonic love was burning with the force of a thousand suns all the way through this scene - she only made out with her “best friend ever” - calm your Karmy shorts for a sec, will you? And don’t even get me started on this look. If this doesn’t prove without any conceivable doubt that Karma Ashcroft is the mighty queen of all straights, then I don’t know what does.

It clearly doesn’t resemble this look at all.

Parallels? Whut? Karmy is mutual? Nope, nopity, nope. No way, shippers. Let’s set the record straight here - Karma was just drunk and lonely and Amy was there to reassure her, so she did the only rational thing in that situation - drunk kiss the girl who’s been in love with her for a decade to thank her because under no plausible circumstances could she have actual romantic feelings for her too, duh, even though the hug perfectly sent that message of utmost BFF gratitude across without the need for romantic intimacy. But just to be sure, right? I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

It’s not like Karma was sober enough to tell her life story just ten seconds ago, no way, she was drunk and she wasn’t thinking straight, alright? She had no idea what she was doing when it happened and low-key sticking her tongue in her BFF’s mouth a platonic kiss was just a natural response, the only appropriate course of action following Amy being a sweetheart and telling her she doesn’t need to change for anyone. The hets do it all the time, ffs, just ask any of them and they shall confirm. I second this. Denial and repressed feelings? What feelings? Stop trying to make Karma bi, deluded Karmy fandom. She doesn’t want Amy like that, can’t you see it? It’s so obvious.

So what if she looks at Amy like she’s brighter than the sun itself or like she’s water in the desert and she’s thirsty af? Please, like you haven’t had platonic dreams about camping  with your BFF in the middle of nowhere doing platonic things at least once. You’re just looking too much into a drunken kiss. Karma will marry Liam and they’ll raise a dozen of little Skwerkel babies and Amy will be the maid of honor at their corporate wedding, okay? Because Karma Ashcroft is a heterosexual. HE-TE-RO. Repeat after me.

Now that I’ve done all the trolling myself so you don’t have to, let’s just say that our perpetually confused bisexual Karma Ashcroft is so far in the land of denial in the form of she’s-my-best-friend-sex-dreams-don’t-count-I-dream-about-a-lot-of-stuff-that-doesn’t-mean-I’m-in-love-with-unicorns-ffs as well as lingering prince charming fantasies and expectations about romance in general that she still can’t read the writing on the wall, despite defending bisexuality herself all season. But we can. And we love it.
