I've now got a spine on my book and I added my name at the bottom in the same font as the title. I really like how this looks now, especially with the spine and the penguin books logo which I got the PDF for from google.

Today I uploaded my book cover to a book mockup with the help of my teacher, I actually really like how this turned out but there's obviously things that would have helped. My teacher pointed out to e that adding the authors name and the logo of the publisher would have made it feel more real so I will now go back and edit the book cover and maybe design a spine for the book and maybe add a colour to the back of the book so the part at the bottom of the mockup will have a colour instead of being just white.
Here are some youtube tutorials for how to make a wooden robot toy. Each video is twelve minutes long and has some really helpful tips for DIY wood work. they go over how to design your robot and give some cool ideas for details you can add, for example, n the second link you can see on the picture that they have added a black to make it look like the paint has faded over time, here are screws and chips which make it look even more realistic, Highly recommend it for those who are interested.
A basic definition of space is the vast area beyond the Earth’s atmosphere. This area is not just an empty place. It contains various substances and energies. The definition of space has changed historically. At first, space was thought of as a completely dark and empty place but since then, scientists have tried to explore space deeper. I've included some pictures of space above for my research but also because I love the way they each make space look, it isn't just black nothingness but instead a colourful and open exotic place.
Here is the trailer for the Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford sci-fi film 'Cowboys & Aliens' from 2011. I have actually seen this film a few years ago and while it isn't amazing it had a cool concept. Mixing sci-fi ships, devices and aliens into a western environment is a good idea, it wasn't executed well. However, I think a game with the same premise would be a much better way to get this idea out, maybe an open world like red dead redemption and uncharted with a story that would follow the same plot the film did but in more detail. The film is about an alien ship invading earth in 1883 and the cowboys and natives fight back, I would absolutely play a game in this setting.

This is a gameplay trailer for a game called Returnal and it looks like a really interesting game that plays with a concept that has been done a lot over the past few years but in a way that is actually intriguing. This is a time loop game, every time you die you start the day over again but in a sci-fi setting. sort of like 'Edge Of Tomorrow' the film but as a game. Every time you die, you come back with new information, either, with how to complete a mission or level or with information on the overall story. While I haven't played the game, it does look interesting and I may try it out. The art style is just a regular hyper-realistic game I do like the way they've designed the aliens, the world and the gameplay does look fun.
Here is my updated Mars outcome poster. Since last time I've added more pictures to each of the three research, development and outcome squares as well as my list of ingredients which was the god, the insect and the shape. for my UFO research I've included a picture of the Rick and Morty ship since it looks iconic but also so much like a regular UFO and that's always something I liked about the show, I actually took inspiration from this ship in the fact that it has two thrusters at the back and a few small parts around the base and the reason i wanted a few details is because of another UFO i've included, the mars attacks UFO, in my opinion are really dull and basic and that really annoys me, since the aliens from that film are so original and iconic with their massive heads and comical faces and voices but their ships are just grey stereotypical UFO's so i wanted a few parts to make it differ. and the last picture was just a picture i liked from google, for my cereal box research I added the picture of 'Chookity Puffs' which is actually a fan made poster I found on red bubble and I actually have in my bedroom, so hen I found out we were going to be making alien themed cereal I knew I had to include this in some way. the other two pictures I found on google that I thought had a nice colour pallet and an interesting layout. And finally, My research for my Plush was all from google but I found the idea of making something like the middle image really cool since I was just going to do a green, cliche alien with black eyes and a large forehead but I really liked how it looked so I changed my research and started to do this instead.
This is a really creative video that shows the walkthrough for making a space dog sculpted from polymer clay. I like the fact that it looks really detailed yet so simplistic, the dog's helmet is only a few curves and bumps but it looks so effective and even the face, has style and looks really cartoony which I really like. In the video he goes over pressure, tools and cutting tips which I recommend you take a look at if you're interested in polymer clay making or just clay sculpting in general.
Sep 24, 2019 - Explore Sudi McCollum Design's board "Robot Toys" on Pinterest. See more ideas about robot, robot toy, retro robot.
I've included a link to a Pinterest page including designs for toy robots. I think they all look great and like something from an old 80s commercial or something you'd see in stranger things. I like how they all mostly follow the same general idea of being made up of squares, having dark tones and the same face but all look really different from one another. I especially like how some of them are made from old cans and tins with rust all over them, it gives it a junkyard feel, like something from an antique shop or a car boot sale.
This is a video with insight on how retro robots look and why they look like that, it is really interesting and also showcases some really good points on how to advance your robot designs, I really do love the retro designs shown in this video and just in general. But they also go over how the toys were packaged and the designs, All the designs are really stylised and obviously, retro. The colours are mainly the same with mainly Grey, Orange and Purple which is used all over the place, with good reason since they really do compliment the robots, also red blue and black with the same reasoning.

Here are two videos on how to scratch build some custom space ships. while in these videos they show that anything can be turned into anything and that is a very helpful tip, it's the things they use in these videos that I'm not too keen on, for example, in the second video's picture you can see a red spaceship made from recycled parts, while cool, It doesn't really look like a ship, it has the long body and two giant jets that most ships do have, it just doesn't scream, spaceship at first glance. I'm more of a fan of the first ship in all yellow but even then, not a huge fan. However, the tips and tricks they give you are extremely helpful for someone who wants to build a spaceship from scratch.
Here's another tutorial on how to design spaceships. While not as helpful as the last one I shared, I do appreciate the effort that went into it. It gives solid advice and great tips for perspective, detailing, proportions and just designing in general. They give some really helpful tips on everything so if you're looking for an easy watch for spaceship design, this is a hundred precent worth your time.
This is such a helpful video on spaceship design that I cannot stress enough how much you should watch it. If you are aspiring to do something sci-fi related or you have a school project, you absolutely need to watch this, all the details talked about and all the ideas given, they really understand what needs to be said and what goes without saying. It includes many techniques for many various designs of ships. The video also isn't too long considering all the topics it covers which is helpful considering that sometimes you don't have time for a forty five minute long description of a single ship and its details. Highly recommend
This is a video on how to make a toy bunny in Maya, while I wasn't at all keen on Maya and if I can help it, I will steer clear of it from now on but this video, considering I watched it after completing the tasks, really did help my image of it. The way they make the bunny look so detailed and stylised in the app does put a bit of perspective on it and while I still don't like it, if I was to use it again during the course, I would just re-watch this video to catch myself up. I highly recommend you watch this if you either, want to know how to make a bunny or you are struggling in Maya. They go through everything in enough detail to help you but also bing fast enough so that if you need to rewind and refresh your memory on something it doesn't drag on which is something that really annoys me when I have to repeat a step after a mistake or I have forgotten to do something.
Here is another model making tutorial that I highly recommend. It is made by Cosmic Quest Hobbies and he goes through basically everything you'll need to know about making a ship, the last video I shared, while helpful, only showed a wing of a ship where as, this video goes over the entire thing. The video isn't as long as the previous one but he still gets everything he needs to out. I especially love how he makes the details look, all the small plastic parts and pieces look great and all match each others aesthetic. Highly recommend you watch this if you're interested in space ships or model making in general.

Here is a video tutorial/ walkthrough on how Adam Savage makes his miniature spaceships and models in general. This is around thirty minutes but It's a really helpful guide on tips and tricks of how to make your miniatures look as detailed and complex as they can. He goes through things like how he used pieces of junk and old plastic to make his models and with time stamps you don't have to sit through things you either, know how to do or things you don't need to know. He also has a very appealing voice and goes through everything a nice and easy pace for beginners which is always appreciated.
Here is a quick pose I drew in the short time in between watching the series Fargo and our break. I'm not really too happy with how this looks but I think there are some things I did better than others, like, the legs, the right hand and the left perched on the raised leg. I think that the neck is definitely too far to the left and the vest doesn't look right.
