Stop focusing on falling in love. Focus on what kind of future you want. Do you want to be waiting by the phone? Wondering if your husband is attracted to you that day? Waiting for the father of your children to get out of rehab and hope the fifth times a charm? NOOOOO. You need to consider what kind of partner and parent a person is going to be and you need to talk with them extensively over time and figure out their views on life, religion, politics, lifestyle and anything else that might matter to you. Don’t get deeply involved with someone you know is irresponsible and unreliable. That’s setting yourself up for an awful future!!! People say it’s not romantic to plan ahead or consider the details but how is it romantic to get punched in the heart repeatedly? Idk about you but I think it’s a lot more romantic to end up with someone who is actually there for you and cares about your wellbeing, even if they don’t have the greatest sense of style or the perfect body or the coolest taste in music. None of that matters. Focus on what’s important in a person, their character, their lifestyle, their values, and try not to get seriously involved with people unless it all matches up with you and what you believe!!
