Mastery was such a great class to start with. I was able to learn what it means to master a topic and how to know when you’ve mastered it. Learning the importance of mastering a topic was critical and enabled me to set goals for myself and those around me. Mastery also allowed me to do an in depth self-assessment. This gave me the opportunity to look at my own abilities and see where I can continue to grow. I now understand that I have a real opportunity for growth in the area of relationships and consistency. I also know that I am great with projects and delegating jobs. Executive leadership followed the same concepts and was a great follow up class. I had a good understanding of leadership, however, executive leadership allowed me to get an overview of a higher level. Executive leadership was an opportunity to study top leaders in our current markets and in the overall business world. I was able to study one of my favorite leaders of all time, Beyoncé. As an empowering female leader in the music industry, Beyoncé has a very unique style of leading. She is known for her ability to bring people together and keep her private life private. Despite many speculations Beyoncé is living a life of privacy and entertainment domination. Project and Team Management was a class that allowed me to manage a group of people in a large setting. This class helped me understand what it takes to be efficient and effective when leading projects. I was so thankful to be able to work with people who were qualified to complete the projects at hand. Understanding how people function and understand team projects was one of the most helpful aspects in all of my following classes. Knowing how to properly delegate tasks and get to know others strengths and weaknesses was a very empowering skill to learn. I also learned more about how I view relationships and how I understand people. Business Storytelling and Brand Development was not an easy class. I found that I was the most challenged with this class. I ended up finding that there were so many ways to tell my story and the story of my business. I got to study Apple Inc. and how they tell their story. I was able to determine the type of branding that I’d like to do for my business. I am striving to become a love brand for those who are seeking to learn and grow in their industries. Entertainment Business Finance was a great class for me. I was able to get a better understanding of business costs and needs. I was also able to determine how much my business would cost to startup and run long term. This class didn’t just help me with my business but also helped me in my personal life. Understanding finances and how to properly budget for certain aspects was a major help. I was able to utilize this class in real time and create a startup plan for my business. Negotiation and Deal making was my favorite class. I love dealing with people and understanding what is helpful for them. I was able to take this class and practice real world negotiations. I also learned that negotiation wasn’t just about how I would win. This class taught me that negotiating was learning how meet the needs of myself and the people I’m negotiating with. You don’t have to get the best to win. Sometimes you can get what’s great and help someone else gets what is great for them too. Product and Artist Management was a class that allowed me to create a product that I could put on the market. I was able to build a product line for a comedian that would have been available to sell immediately. With the items designed and ordered I was able to offer this product in the real world. I also learned more about what it meant to manage an artist. Understanding how people interact and what artists are faced with was a large piece of this class. I was able to complete scenarios where artists needed advice and management. Advanced Entertainment Law was based around a topic that seems very far-fetched to me. Understanding law is already tricky as it is and I was extremely nervous to take this class. I was able to complete it with a better understanding of entertainment and law. Reading a contract was a scary thing to do before this class. I was able to learn the basics of contracts but also what to look for before signing one. I now have a better understanding and an exciting outlook on contract analysis. Entertainment Media Publishing and Distribution was one of the most useful classes. I was able to get a network of publishing options available. I was also able build a knowledge of best distribution options. I got a chance to help my brother build a publishing network and get a publishing contract. In that time, he was able to get his music distributed through a trusted site. We were also able to get more information on how to take his distribution outside of the U.S. Digital Marketing was a very difficult class. Although social media is a staple in our everyday lives, I’m terrible at it. I had to figure out to build a business while utilizing this option. I was able to learn more about paid searches and SEO. This gave me the ability to get my website up and running and found. I loved learning how to get my business seen. Business Plan Development gave me the opportunity to understand the importance of a business plan. I was able to build an outline that would set me up for success in the final class. I did enjoy what I learned. Understanding each aspect of the business plan gave me an outline for my future endeavors. Knowing that each aspect would hold value to the future needs made this class very easy to do. Motivation was high and I really enjoyed learning how to build out my business plan. The Final Project: Business Plan was such a great way to wrap up this course. This class brought every class together and put it in to one nice package. After the package was wrapped I was able to turn in a full business plan for my business. I really enjoyed every aspect of this class as I got to recap the key points to why I started this course. I feel empowered and enabled to build a successful business and continue in my life dream. Learning business is not easy but it is rewarding and I’m so thankful that I took this journey on!

Overall, having a business plan has given me the confidence to present my ideas and goals to investors and future customers. Knowing that I’m prepared to learn and grow while having a foundation to build on has given me a new sense of passion to fight for my dreams. I’m so excited to move forward and I would recommend this course to anyone who is really passionate about building a business and living your dreams.

Entertainment Media Publishing and Distribution was the class that I didn’t know I needed. It sounds funny, but I didn’t realize that this class was so important and in the best way for an artist. I really thought getting my music published and distributed had to be such a hard task and it was a little too much for me to handle on my own. With that in mind, I need to say a huge thanks to Full Sail University for helping me learn it’s not at all. There were so many resources for getting music published and distributed; for getting artists set up to be found, get an agent and get heard live, but best of all for getting paid for the work you do. When looking into these resources, there were great tips and tricks for how to get more engaged, however, the resources expanded farther than websites. The instructor, Kim Craft, was full of knowledge and sources that allowed me to get a better understanding of what is appealing to agents and prospective supporters. It was valuable in the sense of inside perspective and outside knowledge. This combination proves the tools you need to really get going in the music industry. One of the goals for my business is to be the best resource my clients have ever had. One of the main tools to being a manager is knowing how to get my artist’s ideas to the right kind of literary and creative agents. This would allow them to be represented by quality names and get their ideas purchased by top agencies. When looking for these agents I need to be able to play “matchmaker” and this class has given me a further understanding of how to do that. I feel so much closer to my goal of mastery and understanding when it comes to my life task. I really enjoyed my experience in this class.
