💛 Cape Town is in a MAJOR water crisis and mass hysteria and panic is definitely setting in. In less than 3 months our taps will run dry. No flushing the toilet, washing clothes, cooking, having a shower... it’ll all be gone. We are the first modern city in the world to be in this situation and no one can really predict what this means, though the feeling is mostly apocalyptic desperation and fleeing in the night. Our government has decided to adopt a position of blaming the people for this, although absolutely zero steps, apart from saying, ‘Sorry, would you mind terribly not using so much water?’ to our city’s population, have been taken to prevent this from happening, or at the very least, prepare us. It’s a nightmare!
💛 I thought a pastel lilac would be a nice way to freshen up my pink locks. Turns out that it’s more of a dark lavender, and while I totally know it’s going to fade and get to the stage where I want it, I don’t feel much myself. Turns out purple requires more bravery (at least to me) than bright pink!
💛 So awkward how our pregnant neighbor returned after a couple of days away from her at-least-verbally-abusive partner (we’ve heard it). Although I feel she has taken advantage of us, manipulated those around her, created drama for the people who’ve tried to help her, ignored all advise, I still was hoping she’d finally gone to sort out her life. Alas.
💛 My latest project, Fur Necessities, is so very exciting! I can’t wait to properly share this and get it going. I’ll be spending this weekend designing the concept for the website!
💛 In other work related news, HG has also undertaken a huge systems upgrade and it’s looking very optimistic! Although I have been working my bottom off.Â
💛 Floyd spent most of the day trapped in my room (I was with him) but he was so quiet about this that he only really let me know when I walked up to him and he showed me how he couldn’t open the door. He also decided that if he gave me a high five (he does this in the softest, most deliberate way ever) that I couldn’t possibly ignore his request to escape. And I didn’t. He was freed. That really just meant lying in the doorway to prevent the door from closing, giving him the advantage of being with me, but also able to get up should someone arrive with cookies.
