Nancy Drew Game Survey time
In your opinion, which Nancy Drew villian is the most irredeemable, indefensible villian? Like, the LEAST justified in their actions?
Iâd have to say Kiri, because to this day, I literally have NO IDEA what I did to âbetrayâ her. Although actually maybe Iâll say the plot of shattered medallion was the real villain all along (no shade to those of you who like this game but it just didnât work for me)
I donât know Nancy, it could have something to do with the fact that their mother tragically died in here...
Things I Never Noticed About Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake
- How weird it was for Sally to invite Nancy to her home, only to leave before she arrives.
- Malone's lake house is pretty lackluster considering he was a rich gangster in the 20s
- None of the door and windows have locks
- The fact that Red just freely wonders around Sally's property and creates and observation platform in one of her trees to "bird watch" at night...
- Sticky notes located in some interesting places
- Sally has lived in the house for a month but it still looks like she just got there (like seriously, where's all her stuff???)
- How in other games the objects and clues added to Nancy's inventory are pretty oddball and rememberable, but the ones in this game are all normal everyday objects I kept forgetting I had.
- The first few times I played this game I never found the shed and was unable to grab the mask before it burned and had to restart the whole game from the beginning
- All the puns on the gravestones
- Forever wondering if the cemetery is considered state park property. On that note, how is the acreage even determined because there are some weird inconsistencies on what is considered Sally's property and what is considered state park.
- Game allows you to ask Emily about Waldo Mathias before player is aware this is an important clue
- Ems emporium advertises antiques from the 20s but the only things for sale are booze bottles, plates, and cans
- Health and safety section and the park regulations section on the computer repeats everything hung up on the walls in the ranger's station, as well as information brought up in conversation (none of which is relevant to solving the game)
- Never realizing that Malone built his lake house in the exact spot of an old farmhouse that used to hide escaped slaves. Which is no doubt why he was able to have a huge speakeasy hidden under the house and how all the tunnels were created
- Akers dedicating a section of his informational website to himself
- Almost nothing at the ranger station is interesting or useful to the case
- Music in game is similar to music in the X Files
- Depending on how you play the game you can have conversations pertaining to things you have yet to discover
- It's never explained why Emily just so happen to be at the Malone house at the same time Nancy discovered the speaker on the roof
- How none of the characters in this game really have a good motive as to wanting Sally gone
- Instructions to finding the cemetery are useless after wondering around for half the game finding birds and bugs
- How Sally knows nothing about the house she just bought nor the famous resident who lived there
- Lights in the speakeasy and secret tunnel are still turned on after all these years
- That there is a picture of Mathias on the dart board
- Just how much Malone was obsessed with his dogs
- Apparently there is a secrete entrance to the tunnels from the lake
- Having to always use a walkthrough on the last puzzle because I never noticed there are roman numerals on the dogs graves
- What even is the place Malone hid the gold in???
Thereâs nothing I enjoy more than lovingly nitpicking Nancy Drew games
Weird thing I still remember is how in the shed if you click on the gnome Nancy goes âa face only a gnome could loveâ which seems unnecessarily mean, especially when you behead it laterâŚ
Thatâd probably be for the best

So Iâm a crazy cat lady, so I canât judge too much, but thereâs something funny about the wallpaper being just a picture of Suki sitting in the same spot the real Suki sits.Â
I appreciate that he doesnât question why Suki took a swipe at me. Very helpful of him to give me information to snoop.
I think someone should check in on Sakura...Â
Also is this a Ring reference? Or some specific Japanese lore? I missed it!
âthe saint you see before youâ? Really, Rentaro?Â
Iâm so confused by this, Logan. I thought it was clear that Nancy wanted the book, seeing as sheâs been hounding you for it. Like when we spoke on the phone it seemed like you got that... Still a cute note though.

because it was IMPORTANTÂ to them Nancy!
Iâm glad Nancy brought attention to this, because we never get to see her reflection in any game...
forshadowing.
As someone who has lived in both the country and city, I have to vehemently disagree, Rentaro. Iâm sure many of us are with ya, but donât be throwing out those âeveryoneâs so casually!
Rentaro, when you arenât being a manipulative monster, I really like you. I donât think the awkwardness is the problem.

Stranger danger Yumi! I would NEVER ask someone I just met to go to my apartment and give them the keys...
Girl, I live for taking on and solving other peoplesâ problems. You cannot imagine how much I want you to dish to me. Tell me everything.
