synopsis: i dont know honestly, it was gonna be a musician choso x musician reader, then it was plug choso, but honestly the context can be whatever you want it to be.
word count : ~2k, not really proofread
song : sativa by jhené aiko ft swae lee
the camera opened inside a party. it was a little cloudy inside. whether it was from the mist fan, the weed, or hopefully not a fire, was unknown, but everyone’s faces were pleasant so propbably not the last option. the panning view zeroed in on a girl at the bar with her friends, they were all laughing and having a good time, just chatting about what or— who they’ve seen at the party so far. shoko, your right hand woman, nudged your shoulder with her own.
“you know who is here tonight…you should cop some from him” she said, suggestively wiggling her eyebrows. your eyes widened in surprise and you almost choked on the water you’ve been nursing to vanquish your cottonmouth, you shook your head and sighed. you could, honestly, you could. but you did just get some. it was evident in your low eyes and clam demeanor. a lazy smile grew between your lips, as you brushed her off, turning to the barkeep…
“who’s fucking house is this? why is there a bar, AND barkeep?” you laughed at shoko, hoping to turn her mind off of the man standing 20 feet away, his gaze softly resting on your slightly bent frame. but the expression he dawned wasn’t lustful…it was longing.
the camera panned to the man and your laughs faded, as the background vocals started.
his eyes never lost sight of your body.
each word aligned with his mouth perfectly. his voice perfectly in tune, as everyone seemingly ignored him…singing?
“why you make it so complicated?
off the drink, we concentrating
i know you won’t leave me hangin
smokin weed out the container”
with his words, came actions from those around him. the group of guys he was with, they were all standing against a wall, they were laughing amongst themselves as the words fell from his mouth. they weren’t laughing at him, he actually seemed to not exist to them right now. with his last line, you seemed to be pulling out an excellent pre-roll from your jacket pocket. it was in a little tube that had ‘CK’ engraved on it, you smiled at the letters as you slid it out. sho offered you her lighter, letting you lean down and seductively look up at her as it got lit. you both giggled when you pulled away.
“we spend cash for entertainment
there’s more where that came from, that’s all I’m sayin.
its me and you and we making arrangements
its you and me and we making arrangements”
the camera panned around to you, who was now blowing out smoke and…also singing? wtf is this, a 21+ disney musical? everybody seemingly brushed off your singing and paid attention to their own activities
“is it hot in here or is it just me?
been smoking on this weed”
you turned back around to face the bar.
you looked at shoko and hime, who’d previously stayed quiet, who were waiting on you so all three of y’all could take shots together.
“told ‘em ‘go and take a shot on three’”
you lifted your glass, singing softly again as you looked to both your girls, their glasses raised and ready as well.
“told ‘em drinks is on me”
you quickly downed yours, making a face as you sang the next two words, but it smoothed out after it fully went down. the pair giggled at your reaction, much to your displeasure. though its all love, so the amused grin on your lips was expected when it came
“yeah the drinks, are on me.
said now go and take a shot on me”
you gave your friends a wad of cash and walked away, patting their backs and walking away as you brought the rolled joint to your lips. they both turned, saying your name in a questioning manner, confused at your walking away, but you signaled with your hand that you just wanted to get outside while you smoked so they nodded and ordered like 5 shots each.
“only drug a bitch is on is a tree,
but i lasted 10 rounds like a freak, like a g”
the pre-chorus started up again, your voice beautifully ringing through the air, ethereal and strong at the same time
the camera refocused on you, you seemed to be in your own world as you moved through the party, smoking and singing to yourself, almost like a conversation.
as you walked, it seemed as if you moved in slow motion. another smooth drag of the joint as the lyrics bypassed you. it was an especially long drag, seeing as you made eye contact with the man of the hour, who’s eyes were still locked onto you as he spoke to one of his brothers, yuji, was it? your eyes drifted to the patio you were walking to; nobody was on it, he seemed to get the idea and started moving
you rolled your shoulders, letting the stiffness out as you smoothly blew out the smoke from your nose. your talks with him were always tense..and charged with an energy you couldn’t quite put your finger on.
seeing as you were walking to it before he was, you made it to the patio first. your arms braced your weight against the wooden railing. it’s old frame groaned from the weight. your hand lightly tapped the bar in an attempt to..calm it i don’t know. your head turned to the sound of the patio door opening. the song words ringing out at perfect timing’
you both made eye contact on the last two words of the line, a floaty grin on your face.
this time, both of your voices rang out through the air, but your mouths weren’t moving. actually, the current picture of you two slightly faded from screen, like somebody turned your opacity to 50%, and clips, seemingly previous encounters between you now flashing through.
“why you make it so complicated?
off the drink, we concentratin’
i know you won’t leave me hangin’
smokin weed out the container”
it was mostly memories between y’all that looked like you both wanted to say something, but was reluctant to, for who knows why —it could’ve been a current lover, personal troubles, or something else. but you never allowed each other to just experience one another.
“we spend cash for entertainment
there’s more where that came from, that’s all I’m sayin.”
views of y’all out having fun at fairs, carnivals, and just embracing each other’s presence flashed by just as quickly. big, goofy smiles splayed on the both of yours’ faces.
“its me and you and we making arrangements
its you and me and we making arrangements”
the scene bolded again to the present moment. you two now gazing at each other. your lips parted a little, taking a breath before your song came from your throat, though this time it seems more like a conversation than your previous melody.
“i’ll keep it simple baby
ima keep it simple with you baby
you know i don’t ever play no games
you know i don’t ever complicate it”
the man, choso, gave you a playful look at the line. he felt like you were throwing shade for him making things complicated between you two. he wanted to blurt it out, but your semi-serious expression kept him to hold his questions, comments and concerns until the end of your rant.
“got me feeling some type of way
concentrating, concratin’ on the way
your face flashed to the false sense of excitement you always displays when he comes around. to everyone besides your trio, you were just his new friend, and he was your friends' friend. that’s the relationship you’d agreed to have in public, because anything more, would have just been too complicated.
“oh my god I’m glad you came
you came through with the sativa
indica be having me stuck”
your faux excitement vanished in a blink giving him knowing look, because you two knew much more than him knowing your preferred strain, and you knowing what he brought for you. your hand trailed to the collar of his shirt, bringing him closer to you, a daring expression donned on your face, along with a teasing smile.
“you know just how to keep me up” a small wink followed the remark.
“you know it, better believe it”
the music of your song cut with the patio door opening. shoko peeked her head out while saying your name, her face paling when she saw the position you two were in, moreso the one you were holding him in and grimaced.
“my bad hon, we were heading out and satoru wanted us all to meet up at the italian place down the road…including you both…and i refuse to leave you alone at a party we came together to…so come on!” she giggled as she grabbed your hand and dragged you off the patio and down to the driveway. you didn’t exactly argue so she took that as you weren’t having a relationship deeming conversation and continued moving.
seconds later, you were driving your bmw m4, y’all were cruising in front of choso's car, leading him and his gang of misfits to the italian place you frequented. you leaned your seat back a bit as you picked up the speed. the little light on your dash said 75, but your speedometer said 90…so who was really right. the highway was empty, your scanner signaled no cops around so it was chill.
the beltway was the calmest part of the city you lived in, less people took it so it was almost guaranteed to be empty especially at like 11:30. you had to take the next exit so you turned on your signal, moreso for choose to see rather than to just have it on, and changed lanes, which resulted in choso calling you, probably to verify what you were doing.
you automatically answered, call it muscle memory, and your phone was connected to the car’s bluetooth . next thing you knew, a low, masculine voice rang through the cars speakers, instead of Lil M.U..
“what’s goin on, baby?” he suddenly said. everyone in your car halted, looking at each other. not necessarily because they were surprised that he said it in front of the men in his car. the agreement was to keep them, and everyone else, in the dark about your…situation.
you sort of ignored the pet name, hoping everyone would dismiss it as a slip of tongue and cleared your throat. “we’re getting off right here on 83, then turning on koko dr and it’s a straight shot to the place, mkay?”
the response was instant, a low hum of approval as he racked the directions in his head. for a moment, you wondered why he didn’t just turn on his gps, but then you figured it was so he’d have this opportunity right here, just to hear your voice speak so passively it’d probably put him to sleep. once you realized you were sitting in a semi-awkward silence because of the rest of the passengers, you quickly hung up without saying a word, turning up Lil M.U. so the girls didn’t have a chance to tease you about the encounter.
as the song (and you, honestly) requested, shoko got out, leaning her leg across the roof of the car, and began to shake her hips to the bouncy rhythm of the song, truly
“Shakin’ ass on top of cars”
