Blame it on Rick.

The end of the first act ...volume... whatever we wanna call it :) After months of secret meetings beneath the full moon, Shadow the Hedgehog and Neo Metal Sonic finally stop pretending. No more arguments. No more excuses. Just one last night together before they go their separate ways. The light of the morning sun brings no joy, no warmth. Neo will return to his master's heel, serving as Eggman's loyal weapon, while Shadow will continue to try to hide his pain from Rouge, Sonic, Amy, Tails and the rest of the gang. But this time, he doesn't return home alone. Not really. I can't believe this Sonic the Hedgehog fancomic exploring identity, purpose, trauma, enemies-to-lovers has become such a huge part of my life now. And I regret nothing. Thank you to everyone who's been following this story so far. You can't believe how much this means to me. Big shoutout again to @ivy_the_ivysaur for helping me outline, speeding up the process :)

I can't believe we made it to 91 pages of this alternative universe. This is the longest ongoing project I made in a long long time.

It slowly dawns on Shadow the hedgehog, that he fooled himslef into thinking this was just about their little deal and the fun of it. But now he actually misses Neo Metal Sonic. And Rouge, Tails, Silver, Sonic, Knuckles and everybody else can't make up for the genuine connection that the ultimate lifeform has with the enemy's greatest weapon.

This marks over 80 pages in this Comic, I can't believe it. At this point, things are fully falling apart. While Neo Metal Sonic has sort of realized that he can no longer pretend like he isn't emotionally invested into the ultimate lifeform, Shadow the hedgehog is several layers deep into absolute denial. Why would Neo suddenly break off their little rendezvous just because one of them got hurt?! That WAS the deal. If the full moon isn't up, they are enemies. Why stop now?! Maybe... hear me out.... maybe because the robot doesn't want to be Shadows enemy anymore. Even though that leads him to a very egotistical conclusion. After this chapter I might take a little break to work on a piece of art for the Sonic anniversary. Not sure yet. Check out the reel for this Part of the comic please :)

Here we go again! Surprisingly, Neo Metal Sonic came out of Eggmans punishment with his memory and personality intact. But for how long? This was a little too close for comfort. Shadow the Hedgehog meanwhile, has to wait. Wait almost 3 months to meet Neo Metal Sonic again. But what they will have to discuss will be hard. This chapter took longer than expected, but I was preparing and recovering for a long Convention weekend. Now I am back and we will be reaching a pivotal moment soon. Metadow is alive and well. We will get through this....together.

Oh so you thought the Angst was over with Part 6?! Oh, my sweet summer child. Shadow obviously survived, but with some pretty nasty injuries that hurt like hell and remind both him and Sonic, who they are up against. Neo Metal Sonic is not to be messed with. And sadly, Shadow is very much in denial what's at stake and how he feels about the whole thing. Sonic sees right through it and therefore probably knows how messy this will become soon. And how much actually had changed. Again, I am very thankful for everybody keeping up with the comic, joined the discord and helops me stay focused. This part may be a little bit of Sonadow bait, in the absense of Neo, who undoubtedly has a great time. Don't question it.

You know, I'll never disappear. Now get me out of here.

We made it. And though this chapter wasn't as hard as the one before, it still took a loooot of work, more than anticipated. Anyway! In the next coming parts, we will unravel what this little oopsie will mean for these three. Sonic for sure thought that Neo Metal Sonic was an unique problem he had to deal with. And Shadow the hedgehog may be immortal, but that doesn't mean he's unkillable.

Everyone involved will have to deal with the consequences. Or do they? This after all is nothing serious, right? It's not like this is a Metadow comic. Shadow and Neo for sure don't have feelings for each other and Sonic for sure will not be filled with justified rage towards the machine. HAH!

PART 5! The most ambitious pages of this AU yet. So many characters! New backgrounds and 11 pages with more color. I hope you enjoy my Metadow obsession :) After a world-ending catastrophic event, Eggman-Empire and Sonic Heroes join forces and defeat the evil. A little worse for wear, but in a good mood, the rest of the day and following night is a little ceasefire. And in the midst, Neo Metal Sonic and Shadow the hedgehog spend a surprisingly tender moment together. And while not mentioned in the pages themselves, maybe it's still clear this is the first real gift Metal ever got - a strange Bootleg Metal Sonic Plushy. I had to add Infinite ❤️ He will not have a big role in the comic. But he was very fun to draw. The one person who really ends up not having a good time is Sonic himself. Because sadly, this is a Metadow and not a Sonadow Comic :D The next part won't be as fun anymore.

Well well well! We made it to Part 3 of the Metadow madness! I hope the rift between the two is obvious enough. While Shadow may refuse to talk to his close ones, Neo... well. He has to deal with his father. That's not becoming a problem as feelings develop, I am sure. I want to take a moment to explain the story a little bit more. But you can always ask questions, I love answering them. So - Override takes place in an alternative timeline some time after Sonic Heroes. Metal has been upgraded to the Neo Metal Sonic form by Eggman again, but the controls and oversight has been increased. Neo still manages to keep old memories and ambitions intact. Somewhat. And one of them is the quest to find out more about who he is. He manages to convince the only other "man made weapon" to have regular meetings under the full moon. And when there is nothing left to discuss or the disagreements between eggman empire and freedom fighters is too big, they resort to more fun activities while in a horizontal position. Cough Cough. One bigger change starting right here is that all the main characters around Sonic are living in an underground compound to hide from and strategize against the big Egg. This is where Shadow runs into Sonic one night. Anyway! This will get pretty dark at time, sometimes a little suggestive and at some point, there will be Mpreg and a Fanchild. So be warned! I hope you enjoy the content I have cooked up.
