The fallen land

In the past few months, we, the American people who come from all around the globe with different backgrounds, have seen that our country has fallen into ruin. A country that once would pride itself on being the home of the brave and the land of the free, yet we look at our phones, and we see the ruin of our country and the state of the world. In this modern age, it is hard for one to simply ignore the decay we have found ourselves in. It makes one think of those words we would once pride ourselves on. In this modern age, we live with a system a system that is broken, of which power can be bought and sold like there are not children being traded like animals sold at the highest bid, mothers and fathers being ripped from their families with no way of knowing if they will ever see them again. The people of the United States no longer stand united instead they stand on years of blood, tears, and lies, lies that have been fed to them since the moment they could pledge their allegiance to a country, a country that could care less if they died by the brawl of a gun or the hands of a police officer all for being a shade to dark the same police officers who are meant to protect and serve the American people. The golden years of America are dead. They died when we decided that fighting wasn’t worth dying, silence meant protecting loved ones, and justice for all only meant those who live to serve the king. I fear that within the next few years, if we, the American people fight if we don’t stand united and be able to see past our differences, see past the things we once believed kept us divided, I fear there will be no future to fight for. The only way we will ever be able to see the bright sun of tomorrow is if we make it through the night to see it. We the people.
