STOP BUYING STARBUCKS

support workers who are fighting for a contract for everyone in the company. the most recent strike is over but we have NOT received a contract. things have NOT gotten better despite how the media is trying to spin it. don't buy starbucks in the cafes, don't buy starbucks in grocery stores, don't buy it anywhere, and tell everyone you know as obnoxiously as possible.

also they are increasing prices with every new launch. which happens every month and a half. if you really want to pay more every month and a half for the same drink, your problem i guess, just know that you're telling the company it's fine to keep doing this on every level.

To put it bluntly, the only way to end homelessness is to house people or kill them.

That's it. Those are your options. Homelessness doesn't go away based on "crime crackdowns." You will imprison the unhoused, and when they are free, they will be unhoused again. Or they will die in prison.

When you burn encampments or force people out without their stuff, they remain unhoused or freeze to death.

After working with the unhoused, it's become abundantly clear that those who don't want to support them instead want them dead.

There is blood on the hands of every government and organization that controls the homeless population with force instead of compassion.

as a tme person with a transfeminine sister it is extremely clear to me that we absolutely do not have an equivalent experience.

she did not experience "male socialization." when i look back on our childhood, it is easy to understand that there was no privilege to that concept. she was forced to try and shrink herself into the shape of a man, and was abused when she didn't succeed at playing the part. being "raised as a boy" only highlighted the stark incongruity between what was expected of her and what she was. this repeatedly led to her facing violence.

and to be clear i genuinely don't care if you think a rude comment from an exasperated trans woman online is as equally bad as the literal risk of her being murdered when she walks outside. this is not a competition, being the most visible is not a prize. i genuinely fear for my sister's life.

Anything that puts all of the child's power onto the parents' hand, anything that assumes parents are going to inherently do enough of a good job no one else needs to interfer, every single one of these IS going to be used by controlling, neglectful or unprepared parents and already are, and if the system did not account for that very real, tangible, dangerous tendency, then it's not worth fucking anything. You shouldn't make things "for the youth"/with children in mind if you are going to overlook this painfully common aspect of their lives u_u
