i feel like a lot of hanahaki fics don’t register how embarrassing it is to nearly die because you were too scared to confess your love to the person who is literally right there, and then find out they were (gasp) in love with you the whole time and so you’re fine actually. i think personally i would give it a shot earlier just to dodge that embarrassment, regardless of the burden i’m putting on them or the instadeath threat or whatever the reason for not doing it is this time

like if i was one of the friend characters in these fics i would not be like omg you guys figured it out 🥺 if my friend was in the hospital on the verge of death putting me through all this stress because they were this stupid i’d kill them. all that drama and they were in love with you the whole time. i’m going home. don’t call me. and if i was the person with the disease that’s what i would be thinking about avoiding while deciding whether or not to confess. like goddd imagine if u got everyone so upset and dramatic for nothing. ok i’m beginning to think i’m the problem here and i’m just not romantic enough to get it

worst part of being the biggest fan of my own ocs is i have to come up with all the ship names. how am i supposed to know the optimal way to mash names together. whens the time for name mashing and whens the time for funny wordplay. i didnt go to school for this.

dont store a knife with the point facing down, it damages the blade. no, dont do that either. when you store it with the point facing up you might accidentally hurt yourself when you try to grab it. dont store a knife at all actually. your blade must never leave your hand, always ready, ruthless and waiting. you know deep down that ever since you learned the stench of blood you will never be able to cast it aside. or just get a sheath for it i guess.

A trope that gets to me: 'guard dog' character and their partner who are both fully aware of it and honestly don't care/kind of like it. Someone says "call your guard dog off" and their partner does call them off. That person, their 'guard dog', is someone who is unreservedly, irrefutably loyal to them. Someone undoubtedly dangerous who is willing to kill, to maim, to obey, simply because of their love for one another. There's no manipulation involved— it is loyalty, brutal, dogged loyalty. And it goes both ways.

re-reading asos and jon snow is the first pov to question that theon killed bran and rickon ???? he's drunk on pain and meds but 'They can't be dead. Theon would never do that' ??? he thinks that immediately, it's crazy, and in the next chapter he's using a bow and thinks about theon again. Is this a connection because they were both outsiders in winterfell and he can't believe theon would do that because it implies something about how treacherous winterfell outsiders are and he doesn't what to believe in that implication when he's struggling with his own worth ? or maybe he's just being gay,,,
